I hate to call this place average, because the food was incredible. Their clam chowder is probably some of the best I've ever eaten. The staff was friendly and attentive. No, all the points they lost with me was on the comfort (or rather lack...More

Who knew there could be a 5 star restaurant in this cozy Long Beach town. When we walked in to the restaurant we were stunned and excited to find a big city feel in such a small space. We read that reservations were suggested and...More

My husband and I agreed it was the best dinner out that we have enjoyed in a long time. We had the specials (halibut with a porcini mushroom sauce and a rib eye, both with Yukon gold potatoes)-excellent in every way: taste, presentation, side dishes,...More

House salad, chowder, seared fresh halibut and a bottle of savignon blanc made for a great meal. The service was excellent and unobtrusive.

Probably the best restaurant in the Long Beach area. Several blocks south of downtown Long Beach, this tiny restaurant offers the best food and service on the Long Beach peninsula. Whether you prefer food from land or sea, the Depot, in its unassuming building, offers...More

You wouldn't necessarily expect fine dining in an old train depot at the beach, and it doesn't quite rise to that level, but they have some very good meal choices, and interesting combinations. It's top on our list when we're in town.

We were there on a Tuesday night - lucky to get a table. It was very crowded and the food is the reason. The clam chowder is award winning (a fact) and delicious. The crab mac n' cheese is to die for. I'm sure the...More
