We make a habit of eating here three to four times a year. We have done this for years. For business I’ve even worked with the restaurant to provide dinner (and the entire restaurant) to over 100 people for an evening. We may have made...More

This is a great place to get a great steak. I recommend the chateau briand for 2. It includes 20 oz tenderloin, 2 baked potatoes, crimini mushrooms and asparagus spears.

El Gaucho is clearly the best restaurant in Tacoma and surrounding area. The ambience is excellent highlighted by evening piano music. The fine dining service is outstanding--a well dressed service that is hard to find in the US. The food is very good, but not...More

This place is absolutely fantastic! Although not cheap, I make a point of coming at least twice a year. Best steak you will ever have. Ceasar salad made right at your table.....incredible. Baked potato, hand "whipped" right at your table....incredible. Fresh fruit basket at the...More

After a miscommunication with friends led me on a long walk in search of Chardonnay and tasty food, I looked across the street and saw El Gaucho beckoning to me. The atmosphere was at once welcoming and a bit romantic. I sat at the lovely...More

The food was absolutely excellent. Escargot and Filet Medallions Oscar -delicious. But just as important was the service. The wait staff are excellent. Attentive and gracious. Yes it's pricey but they certainly try to make it a special evening for you.

It certainly is a five star experience. They had a thoughtful birthday card for my wife on arrival. the valet parking is very smooth. Dark atmosphere; need flashlights for the menu. They have a nice jazz pianist there that plays some Elton John and Billy...More

You walk in through a small door on the sidewalk that doesn't show anything about the place. When you get in, it is dark and then it becomes beyond belief. It is beautiful, romantic and the food is wonderful!

When you first walk in, you have to adjust your eyes to the darkness, but once you adjust, you are transported to a different time and place. Reminiscent of an upscale eatery of the 1920's. The ambiance is romantic, the food is pricey, but worth...More

Sure there are about 15 seats at the bar and you are welcome to eat there anytime. Outside of happy hour you will have to pay regular price for food and drink. Full menu is available.

Sorry, no dancing at El Gaucho. They have live piano music that plays in the bar, though.

I don't own the restaurant; you need to ask them who their supplier is.
