Excellent home made ice cream and soups. Good place to stop for a light lunch or ice cream--anytime!

I have to say Ellen's has a variety of flavors but they are lacking in flavor. Perhaps because I was recently at Jeni's ice cream in Columbus Ohio that it clouded my experience. We didn't finish our smalls here because it wasn't worth the calories. Also they charge an extra 5% for credit. I guess I get this but come... More

Not a lot of ice cream places in Charleston WV area - pretty much the only competition is Baskin Robbins and Tim Hortons (chains). Ellens is the best (also only) fresh homemade local ice cream place in town, run by a nice lady (Ellen) and is excellent. In addition to great ice cream they have cofffee, sandwiches, salads and soups... More

Ellen's has a great lunch with special soups of the day. All are homemade there and salads are wonderful. Best lunch in Charleston, WV

Ellen's has great homemade ice cream in several different flavors. There is salad and soup as well. The staff is excellent. Be sure to check out her paw paw ice cream only available a few weeks a year.

I'm kind of a snob when it comes to ice cream, especially hand dipped. They have a good combination of classic and unique ice cream flavors. I enjoyed cinnamon ice cream on a cinnamon waffle cone and my husband had the best cookies and cream he's ever tasted.

The ice cream at Ellen's is wonderful! Always something different to choose from & a treat for everyone. Ellen's is a little pricy considering it costs you $3-4 to park if you aren't lucky enough to find a meter (which is likely you won't). Then another $3-4 for an ice cream is a little extreme. But if you can get... More

A great place for the family and good ice cream in historical down town Charleston, WV. In the summer they are located at the Farmer's Market too. Yum Good.

I was here with a large group and we stopped by for dessert after dinner. It was a cute little ice cream store and it certainly didn't disappoint. I had the chocolate chip ice cream in a cup and it was awesome! The prices weren't bad at all!

We usually forgo desert at the restaurant and stop here instead. Great flavors. It's always hard to choose, so we end up getting multiple scoops. And I'm ashamed to say we sometimes get a second round. Soooo good.
