I’ve been to several of Door County, Wisconsin’s trademark fish boils, but my favorite one is at Rowleys Bay Resort Restaurant, 1041 County Road ZZ, Ellison Bay. What I like about this place, which is open from Memorial Day weekend through mid October, is their verbal presentation about the rich history of the area and their huge buffet and salad... More

We went there for a fish boil. The story teller was wonderful and gave an excellent presentation about the history of the area. The whitefish, potatoes and onions from the fish boil were added to a buffet which was average.

Have been to several Door County fish boils over the years and found Rowleys to be the most interesting. A story teller gives you the history of Rowely's Bay back to the early settlers and native americans while the fish boil is in progress. When the fish is done you are seated indoors and there is a "Wisconsin salad bar"... More

Gorden Ramsey should come here for Kitchen Nightmares! The decor is completely outdated, it reminded me of a funeral home. The so-called "dinner buffet" was I am not even sure where they got their food from! The dessert bar was choc. chip cookies and rock hard brownies w/ cherry sauce on them. It was so slow/dead in there for dinner,... More

Rowleys Bay Restaurant is truly a unique find on the peninsula. The owners of the Resort and Restaurant strive to create an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, but more importantly one that makes you feel as if you are family. Went to the fish boil this evening and the owner, who in all righteousness fills the title of host, greets... More

Twenty years ago we stayed at the campground down the road and walked down to Rowley's Bay for dinner. It was so good that we still remembered it twenty years later and wanted to go back. We chose to go back for the fish boil which included a story telling of the history of the area while they prepared the... More
