We took my daughter and her two friends here after graduation. The waitress sold us on the brunch. It was mediocre food, but many different kinds and a lot of it if that is what you like. The restaurant was alright, but could of been...cleaned more. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and messed up on our bill. I wondered about the total, but did not look at it too closely until I got to the car. It was then I realized that she had forgotten to add two of the brunches on to the bill. Doing the right thing, I went back in and talked with the host. He said the manager would have to take care of it. You would think she would have been right with me, correct? No, I had to wait and wait. When she came back, she charged us the whole amount. No apology for the wait, nor some off the bill or a gift card for being honest. She needs a little help with her customer service skills. We probably will not be back. Imagine what a $10 thank you gift card would have done along with fast service to correct the error? A thanks for being honest; it was the right thing to do and I would do it all over again, but why not reward honest people? It was close to $40 that she would have lost.More

My kids have an appointment nearby and they were asking for weeks to go here because they could "smell the burgers". So, we went and they were not disappointed. We've been to some of the Madison locations several times as well - this is always...a good place to get pub food (although there are also a few more interesting dishes as well in addition to burgers) and a chance to try some new beers. I really liked the saison I tried there.More

Nothing too fancy, but one of our favorite spots for brunch with friends. Reliably good coffee, an omelette bar, prime rib, ham, turkey (and fixin's), fresh fruit and salad bar, smoked salmon, biscuits and gravy, taco/nacho bar, and most of the usual breakfast suspects -...what's not to love? The service is always above average and the food always rotates through quickly. (PS - their Bloody Mary's aren't bad either)More

Friends and I met on a Monday, when it wasn't very busy. After waiting for quite a while, I went to the bar to get a beer. I was charged $2.00. Half way through our beers, the waitress finally showed up. We didn't really need...her at that time since we each had half a beer, and were still waiting for friends. Well after my beer was finished, she came back, probably since she finally noticed two more people at the table. At one point, I asked for a food menu. My friend asked about the two dollar beers on Mondays. I asked for a Belgian beer shown on the wall. She brought it but still no menu. Eventually she brought the menu, again, half way through our beers. I decided that I really didn't want to eat there because of the incredibly slow service. I asked for the bill. Because we were talking about two dollar beers when I ordered my beer, I expected to be billed two dollars. I was charged $4.60. When I inquired, she said that my beer was not included. I asked why she didn't tell me since we were asking about the two dollar beers when I ordered. She said she didn't want to influence my decision. I may or may not have ordered a $4.60 beer when most other beers were $2.00, but that should have been my decision.More

The GD2 has an eclectic menu from burgers, salmon and a Friday fish fry. Salmon was prepared to perfection (not overcooked). You can sit in or outdoors (we chose out) and their was lots of available tables. They also have a nice selection of home...brewed beers....a variety from lighter to dark beers. Service was prompt but not pushy. We had a group of six and although they were busy, we weren't pushed out the door when we were finished with our meal. Highly recommend.More

We are visiting the area for training. The Grate Dane is accords from our hotel. A group of us stopped in for dinner. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and our service was fantastic. The fish tacos and lamb tacos were s big hit. A...couple of people in out party have gluten issues and they really enjoyed the pub burgers. Really yummy sweet potato fries. The cocktail program is nice. Everyone had a great time.More

I can't remember the last time I ordered Chicken Pot Pie at a restaurant, but Great Dane's Chicken Pot Pie was excellent. I sat at the bar and had great service from one of the bartenders. The Stone Of Scone Scotch Ale that I had...was also really good.More

Went to the Great Dane in Fitchburg for dinner with a party of 6. It took in excess of any hour (about an 1 hour and 10 minutes) to get our food. They were not busy so not sure what the reason for the delay...was. However, the waitress apologized numerous times during our wait, so I assume it was not her fault. When the food came it was okay, but the slow service certainly had a negative impact on what we were hoping would be a fun evening.More

$18 or so. But it is huge with dozens of options. You won't be able to eat everything but you will enjoy it! Only Fitchburg and Hilldale have buffet.
