I love to get there early and have dinner. My favorite choices are the pizza, the chili, jambalaya, and their salads. The listening room is a wonderful place where you can really hear and see the musicians. Cafe Carpe is a unique place and it's definitely worth the trip from Illinois.

Cafe Carpe is unique. It is located in an old building on the river. It has a charming screen porch area that is my favorite place to eat. There are musicians performing at Cafe Carpe some evenings. The food is homemade. The soups are especially delicious. Desserts are a special treat.

I have been coming to the Carpe for more than 30 years. It is my favorite place to eat, drink, and meet old friends, and the live music in the back room is a special bonus. The food is good, the atmosphere is aging bohemian 😊, and they have several craft beers on tap and a fine selection of ports,... More

This cafe serves fabulous soups, salads, and grilled sandwiches (the Tomato Reuben was quite a treat). The place definitely has a slight hippie flavor to it - if that's going to bother you, try a McDonald's instead. The back screened room was wonderful on a late spring day - light breezes and goldfinches at the feeder.

The music is always great to hear on the weekends. Stop and try the food because you will be amazed. On tap try some great Wisconsin... More

We have been there previously and like the music and food, thought we would try it again this year. They had performance by JP Cyr, but did not stay. Had the most wonderful deep dish pizza there. Serves 2-4 people and that were positively correct, almost did not finish it. Was a wonderful dinner.

Came for the music, but I was hungry so I had some marvelous bean soup. And *that* was so good I had a salad with grilled meat on it. Very delicious, but rather expensive. I'm not sure about the price of the drinks; my friend was buying -- but I have a feeling they were expensive, too. The music was... More

food, bar, live music. For blue grass and folk music fans. Has a screened porch overlooking the river. Music events need reservations. Food menu is limited but adequate. Nitely specials, sandwiches, salads. I like the quality of the food. A family operation.

Known for many years as a midwestern stop for blues, folk, jazz and rock in a traditional intimate setting. Check out their website for frequent performances. Good food, limited menu
