I’m not sure if it was low quality meat or just an incompetent chef but my filet was terrible. Unbelievably dry and tasteless. Same for my companion who said his prime rib sandwich was like trying to chew leather.

We stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday evening. 10 of the 12 the bar seats were full and 2 other couples were standing by the bar chatting with others We didn’t see anyone to seat us at a table. One of the customers told...me that they didn’t have a waitress tonight to serve at the dining tables but if I wanted to ask Kathy the cook, maybe we could order some food and sit at the 2 open bar seats. We didn’t see the cook, so we decided to sit at the 2 bar seats and order a drink and think about where else we could head to eat. The bartender/ owner Dave was scurrying around the back of the bar making drinks. Not super friendly for sure. Didn’t say Hi, Hey, no acknowledgement. He plopped down eating utensils and mumbled something about a drink. So we both ordered drinks and he served them right away. If you knew Dave as a regular patron, he would certainly strike up a conversation and smile. Not so much us,even though we tried. I guess being a regular helps. Honestly, I totally understand him closing the dining area due to not having a waitress. I get it. But what I didn’t get was his unfriendliness. You need customers to keep your business going. Saying Hi or being a wee bit friendly wouldn’t hurt. Even the 2 regulars next to me ordered a side of ranch and one joked to the other, bet he’ll get that for ya with a smile, ha ha ha. But anyway, we ordered the special, which was broasted chicken. It was very good! It was served with cole slaw, fries and a roll. I would definitely order it again, but Dave is making it hard for me to patronize his establishment again. And like other restaurants, they add 3.5% to your bill if you use a credit card.More

My husband and I stopped for dinner on a Friday night at around 6:30 pm. It was very crowded so we took a seat at the bar to wait for dinner. The bartender/owner was downright unfriendly and surly. But it was very busy so we...gave him the benefit of the doubt. We each ordered a drink and an appetizer at the bar while we waited for a table. We ordered a second drink and the appetizer arrived before we closed out our bar tab. We were told a table was available so we paid the tab and tipped the bartender 20%. BTW the people sitting next to us at the bar commented on the bartender/owner being a real jerk (not the words they used but you get the idea). We were seated and the waitress seemed irked because we had already ordered and paid for our appetizer. We assured her we were both ordering dinner and her attitude immediately improved. Lastly, I had trouble finding a specific item on the menu and the hostess was passing our table and grabbed my menu and pointed to what I was looking for and threw the menu back on the table. I am not exaggerating here, she literally tossed it back on the table and muttered "guess you had too much to drink". Really? Well that did it for us. We got up from our table, told our waitress we were leaving and handed her $10 for tying up her table for 5 minutes. I have never been treated worse at any restaurant be it up here in the Northwoods or in big cities across the country. I will never set foot in that place again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.More

We arrived on a summertime Tuesday -- to a packed bar at opening! We were able to get a table and enjoy some old-fashioneds and traditional supper club fare. The inside of the restaurant is quaint, charming, and timeless. After dinner, we were able to...make our way to the bar for some cocktails and conversation with the owner. Come early for best seating!More

Went for the fish. Ordered the Torsk. It did not look like it was cooked enough and I asked a waitress (asked a different waitress as ours was not around) to bring my meal back to the kitchen to have it cooked longer. It was...then returned to me by that waitress and she said that the cook said it was cooked enough. When our original waitress asked how everything tasted I told her that the fish did not appear to be cooked properly and it didn’t look right. She went back to the cook and asked about it again. I was told again that there was nothing wrong with it. It did not taste right and it did not look right. I didn’t eat it. I was still charged full price for my meal.More

Trailways has fish fry on Friday and Wednesday. The fried fish has a light crisp breading and the baked fish is excellent too. The service is great, prices are reasonable and the owners are friendly.

My wife and I and another couple stopped in on Friday for the fish fry. It was absolutely delicious! Very crispy breading/ batter and delicious french fries. It is all you can eat and it was so good we had a hard time pulling ourselves...away from the table. One odd thing I feel I should mention is that the bartender (owner?) makes ridiculously strong cocktails. We ordered a couple of old fashions and they were the strongest drinks I’ve ever had. After finishing the first one we ordered another round but specifically asked the bartender to put less alcohol in them as too much brandy ruined the taste of the cocktail. We then watched him pour our glasses almost to the very top with Brandy and then add a very slight splash of soda. We basically got a glass full of brandy with bitters. Not sure why anybody would make such a stiff drink? Not only does it not taste good but it is not very cost-effective for business purposes. Had the drinks not been so strong we would’ve probably each had two more cocktails but because they were so strong we just switched to water. Aside from that, we had a great experience and I would definitely return for the delicious fish fry. Maybe next time I will drink beer......More

After hearing about this quaint little place from locals, we decided to finally try it. So happy we did! It was the Wednesday night before the 4th of July and we knew it would be busy so we made reservations for 7 o’clock. We got...there about 10 minutes early and the place was full plus people were waiting. Full bar too. The hostess was great. She said to just give her a few minutes to clear a table. We sat down at 7 exactly. Perfect so far. Our waitress was super nice and prompt. Although, they don’t have a lot of tables for two. Most were for large groups. But that’s ok. They have their all you can eat fish fry on Wednesday night as well as Friday and I had that and my husband had the broiled Torsk. Both were very good. We both got coleslaw and mine came with steak fries and his came with a baked potato. But looking at the other food that came out, I don’t think you’d go wrong with anything on the menu. Great service, great food, easy to find. Will definitely go back when it’s not so busy during a holiday week. We do recommend reservations.More

We love fish fry on Friday night. Trailways has a consistently great Friday fish fry. The fish is flaky, never greasy. Good fries and coleslaw accompany their family style fish fry. The food and service are fantastic. the prices are reasonable.

This superclub is a traditional wisconsin superclub. Dave, bartender and owner, is witty, funny and makes a great cocktail. Fish fries are excellent with a very thin coating on the fish and fried in peanut oil. Never tastes greasy! Hand pounded pork tenderloin sandwich is...another of my favorites.More
