Great, unusual breakfast/lunch place. Crepes and salads were tasty. Espresso is very good, but short of world-class.

Whether you want a simple cup of coffee or a full meal, this place has it all. The daily brew is always good and their specialty drinks are just as delicious. I usually drink my coffee black, but the locally sourced cream and honey and house-made syrups that they provide free of charge are sometimes too tempting to ignore. Then... More

The root note is a very cute little place, with a good atmosphere. Food and drinks are good, but not amazing. Also are kind of pricey for being small ish, but is locally sourced and they use high quality ingredients, so I don't mind as much. I wish there was an option for another side besides a small green salad... More

Order at the counter. Menu on a chalkboard on right when you walk in. Line did get very long at times. It was a Sunday morning. Food was ordered. Coffee arrived fairly quick. The food did not. Our order was overlooked so after waiting quite a while watching other peoples food come that ordered after us we went back up... More

Nothing fancy about this place, but it's a great place to hang out. Try the crepes when you are there.

I don't eat an exclusively vegetarian diet, but this place was recommended to me for the coffee. Did not disappoint! I had a cafe Miel and the Cremlin crepe and am still dreaming about them both. Completely delicious. My husband got the classic crepe with the tomatoes and basil and feta and a cold brew coffee, all of which was... More

We spent five days in La crosse this past week and searched out new and exciting places to eat all week. This place is my perfect breakfast stop! The crepes ARE GREAT! I had the house brew pour-over ( Kickapoo Columbian) and it also hit my sweet spot! (Definitely gonna get some of that at home!) Just a great relaxing... More

On a referral, we stopped in on a Tuesday morning for fancy coffee and crepes. I ordered the berry crepes and my daughter had the cinnamon and sugar. The were very, very good. It was a great atmosphere - my 17 year old daughter loved the decor. There were mostly college kids with a few woman and children. Menu consists... More

A lovely, causal restaurant with very creative and well prepared dishes featuring locally sourced ingredients. The night we were there there was a local musician playing jazz outside on the patio. The service is great and the food excellent! Nice evening!
