This is a dining experience not to be missed. Beautifully decorated dining spaces, wonderful French food (superb escargot and local foie gras), and hospitable, knowledgeable servers. Make sure you begin and end your evening at La Cav, the bar in the basement, and enjoy the fine cocktail and port selections. We enjoyed our "smoked" cocktails, bartender's choice, and port cocktails.

This review is ONLY for La Cave. This is a relatively new (June 2016) addition to the Le Chateau restaurant. Probably the most forward-thinking and adventurous cocktail bar in La Crosse. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. To get there take the narrow winding staircase down from the Le Chateau restaurant. I had one of their “Smoked Cocktails” - Fumé Old... More

My son and I visited Le Crosse earlier this week and dined one evening at Le Chateau. It was our second time dining there. The restaurant is housed on the first floor of a renovated old mansion, and the renovation has been done to a high degree of detail. It is delightful to enjoy such excellent and freshly prepared food... More

We took a party of five to celebrate my grandsons 15th birthday. We had a fabulous experience. The atmosphere is refined but relaxed and the service was Top Notch. We had a variety of different first courses and entrees and loved them all.

Simply excellent! After trying the Waterfront several months ago, I was hoping for something awesome in flavor and class. This Resturant is elegant and exceptional in presentation and flavor. Great dining should be measured to Le Chateau as the 5 star standard. Wonderfully elegant and historically French.

First time here with another couple that have been here before. It' in a restored lumber baron's house from around 1910 i think, amazing decor. The waitress was terrific, food was very good, a nice variety of fare slanted, of course, to the French side of things. We had a great meal then headed downstairs to a cool basement like,... More

We returned for our (hopefully) annual visit to Le Chateau. This is easily the nicest restaurant in La Crosse. I had a 21oz bone-in ribeye that was great. My wife had the duck breast, which I would actually argue was better than mine. The staff are very nice and helpful. Of course it is pricey, but as I mentioned, there's... More

This is a lovely restaurant set in a former private home. It's amazing - each room slightly different. The restoration is impeccable. The food is excellent; if you're looking for a leisurely multi-course dinner, this is your place. Be sure to check out the bar downstairs. It's not cheap but if you're a foodie, a must do in Lacrosse.

Painfully long wait for any food. There was no bread, or anything to nibble on for 90 minutes. Once the food arrived, it was one disappointment after another. Soup had no flavor. Our waitress brought a glass of wine that she suggested, but I never ordered, nor did I approve her recommendation. The bread was not even good. A french... More

Thank you for your comment and review, Unfortunately you didn't experience the real feel of Le Chateau. I am glad you enjoyed our new lounge, La Cave; however, service and food on the main level should have been better. We have been extremely busy in October with guests using their "buy one entree, get one free" coupons expiring at the... More
