We always enjoy the Pines. Their German food is great! The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. And Irv plays a mean guitar!

My brother who lives in Mercer got reservations for our family for a Friday fish fry. There were 12 of us and we all arrived early so met at the outside bar where there was live music. It was a beautiful night and there was a fire pit and comfortable lounging chairs and a small stage where folk music was... More

Had excellent dining experience with friends.. Very good service except not being asked if folks wished to have any deserts... and later if we wished to have ice cream, we should get it from the ice cream counter. Friendly staff, reasonably priced. Flatware being used distracts from otherwise very pleasant dining experience. Food was absolutely excellent ........ everyone's!

My boyfriend and I started coming here when we visit the area to listen to the live music and play bags while enjoying an adult beverage and a bonfire!

The Pines does not let you down if you are looking for an authentic German food menu (they also have a full American menu as well.). Three of us shared the ham shank, veal schnitzel, and beef rouladan meals which included spaetzels and red cabbage (other sides are available.) Everything was as good as you will have anywhere in the... More

We became fans of The Pines thanks to our friends who have a cottage on Spider Lake. From the outside, it's kind of a low-key looking sort of place, but get there early, especially on a Saturday, because it will get busy and tables fill up quickly. There is a small bar as well as an outdoor seating area where... More

Great place!. Of course there is a wait, but the outdoor garden area was shady and filled with comfy chairs. Great guitar player on stage the night we were there playing lots of John Prine. The schnitzel was great, the speatzel and cabbage were as good as any I have ever had. The fish was good. Ice cream was a... More

We actually were at an education benefit in the Pines outdoor area. Very good and music was great. The owners were very generous to allow the food for the fundraiser to be brought in. Great place for live entertainment for the whole famiy. There is an outdoor bar and a bonfire pit. Fun.

For years, we only knew the Pines as a sandwich and ice cream shop, then a couple of years ago, they turned the miniature golf area into a beer garden with music several times a week. That is when we noticed the menu in the evening changed to German cuisine. Spaetzle light as air, red cabbage perfectly cooked, tasty deep... More

Was interested in the German food and the food was terrific and plentiful. Not sure if service is always this way or just short staffed -- there was a 30 minute gap where we didn't even have a server stop by. But everyone there was very friendly and worth the wait.
