I had no expectations since I had let my friend do all the planning, but when she was reading the menu to me before we headed out, I was sold. I really like eating local ingredients in season, and this menu was pretty spot on with what's growing in Wisconsin in April. Ramps, fiddleheads, mushrooms, and tiny carrots. Everything was delicious.... More

We were a hungry, large group (12) of adults and basically ordered almost everything on the menu. Thumbs up to everything we had. I honestly am not sure what I was eating as the dishes were passed to share but all was wonderfully fresh and had amazing flavors. The menu changes with availability of ingredients so the fact I can't... More

First time there. Waiter Daniel recommended the steamed pork buns with shallots, vinaigrette, and crushed spicy peanuts $10. Very good. Also liked the red beans and rice with pork, lamb and jalapeño $9. Not so enthusiastic about app an which sounded better than it was. Pumpkin cake dessert was very good. I would come again. Features small plates but could... More

Wow was the word on my lips as I departed this restaurant. All the foods are as fresh as you can get and the combination of flavors is singular. The menu is ever changing so no point in identifying specific choices but I'm SO glad we chose a selection of "small portions" as it was a great sampling of their... More

First time going to Braise and went with my wife and a friend. We had an 8:15 reservation but was seated at 8:00 when we arrived. We had a fantastic meal by sharing some small plates and a plate for 2. Since the menu is seasonal, some of these items may not be available long term. All of these were... More

The food here is definitely worth a 5-star rating. We sampled as much of the menu as possible, including the curry chicken, beef brisket, cheese tray, bresaola, coriander carrots, Thai pork, pretty much everything that caught our eye. There is also an excellent beer and wine selection. The service, on the other hand, was less than stellar. Getting our first... More

Went to Braise as part of a large group. They had a separate room for us, which allowed us to mingle and not disturb other guests. Brought out appetizers - various cheeses (all good), what I believe was a red pepper hummus dip, and pork buns (life changing). Our dinner was family style. Mushroom Risotto (again, life changing), beef brisket,... More

We began our meal with an amazingly tasty leek soup. The flavors burst in my mouth. So, so good. Yum. Roasted celery root salad, Piedmontese Red Hot, Curry Braised goat, Crispy scallion ricecake, and steamed pork buns is delicious. The wait staff is attentive, polite and willing to ecplain the menu well. We enjoyed our meal immensely.

Went w/friends before a show at the Milwaukee Rep, I had been there several times before but not w/i the last 9-12 months. It appears the owners has incorporated a little asian/mexican food truck flavoring, I like it when people experiment w//food especially when as here it works. We combined small plate and large. I ordered the tongue taco, esquites(a... More

I thought this might be too precious and pricey, but for our group of five, this turned out to be the perfect Saturday night location. The bar area is comfortable, with excellent cocktails, wine and beer, with no attitude whatsoever. The restaurant itself is well designed, just "rustic" enough but with an overall homey feel. The food was better than... More
