never read any reviews on this. Just heard, "You need to go there". From the non-standard entrance to all the knick knacks around the restaurant, it was fun to look at. Price seemed reasonable for city eating. Some seats might not be so good, because there are people walking around all the time looking at the stuff, so you may... More

Went on a last minute road trip to Milwaukee from Chicago. My friend and I went to the casino then decided to Uber over to Safe House. I think the idea of a "PASSWORD" is fun but I don't understand why we had to pay a COVER FEE. When we got past the DOOR CHALLENGE I was expecting something better... More

We were in Milwaukee for the NCAA tourney with friends. This was our first trip to Milwaukee. I would say the Safe House is a speakeasy, and there is a password to get in. We had a beer at this stop but you can also have food. A lot of various memorabilia including 007 movie prints. Hidden gem.

This is a great spy hangout for fresh 21 year olds birthday party . It's also fun just for everybody. With he Birthday chair that rises from the floor to all the spy info and items , you'll have an exploringly great time

An interesting place with spy memorabilia. Password is necessary to get in. If you don't know it a challenge will be given for you to complete. As you complete ypur challenge, the entire bar can see ypu do so. Makes for fun. A great novel place to visit. Area with music and dancing.

After receiving a friend's recommendation, we tried this unique restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the environment made me smile! Life is full of way too much stress, so this restaurant was purely light hearted. Agent Mayhem (greeting you in the actual restaurant), stopped by our table a few times. He was great! We ordered the Reuben and prime rib... More

A true gem of a place in Milwaukee. The innocuous and clandestine location makes the place a bit harder to find, but it is worth going off the beaten path to find it. As many have said, an agent needs to pass a test to prove they are friendly. Usually something mildly embarrassing, that will be on CCTV so all... More

We loved the idea of a secret restaurant. The service was good, Izzy was helpful and friendly. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere was loud and frenetic. It was actually a bit stressful. Better for families than singles or couples.

Went here with my brother one night. It was just o.k. kind of a novelty type place. Had to know a password to get in or they would make you do silly things that people on the inside of the restaurant could watch. The food was just average. Nothing was bad but it was nothing to make a special trip... More

We arrived at 3pm on a Saturday with my 11 yrs old and husband. My son and I's first time there. The overall concept is great! But it ends quickly. We entered and had a 30 minute wait. (3pm on a Saturday?) We wondered throughout restaurant during our wait and noticed at least 20 tables that were open. Hmmm. When... More

Description
In an alleyway near the river, two gas lights and an inconspicuous nameplate—with the name International Exports Ltd.—is all that mark the brick front of this establishment. However, this spy-themed restaurant and bar has been a favorite Milwaukee attraction since its creation in 1966 by founder David Baldwin.

Yes, you need the password. No, we cannot divulge it. But rest assured, as soon as you pass your fun clearance test to prove you’re a friendly operative, you will enter a spy’s nest of global espionage and entertainment!

Expect intrigue and surprises as you explore the twists and turns of the Safe House, operated by an entity known only as Control. A former jazz club, liquor store and hardware store were bought to expand the Safe House and build out a theme of international sectors. In the German Sector examine the CIA Cold War artifacts display, or make a call from our C.I.A (Crafty Instant Alibi) phone booth. Solve the riddle of the world’s largest mechanical puzzle in the Mediterranean sector. Gather your spy-ring for a brief meeting and order a Great Spytini and watch it whiz through the pneumatic tube system, arriving shaken, not stirred. After a few cocktails you may feel like you’re sinking in your chair—but don’t worry—you’re probably sitting in the lucky ejection seat at the Interpol bar. We can’t tell you much more—but keep in mind—good spies never leave the way he or she came in!

Wired Magazine calls the Safe House “one of the hippest places on the planet.” Featured on the History Channel and Food Channel, the Safe House has been visited by Rachael Ray herself! Our menu includes gourmet sandwiches and entree spycials for lunch and dinner, as well as a furtive Friday fish fry. For vegetarian operatives, Control recommends the Hail to the Caesar Salad, among many more. A full selection of cocktails, wine and beer are served in an atmosphere of family fun. Food Network’s Best Of calls it “Too much to pass up.”
