We had eaten at Al Johnson's several years ago and remembered it fondly. Still delicious meatballs and pancakes; good fast service; friendly wait staff. And the Butik has such interesting items. Missed the goats this time but will catch them next time.

This place is not only iconic, but delicious! The food is awesome, service attentive and a great view of the harbor! And who doesn't love goats on the roof?

Fantastic breakfast had the standard pancake special. The fruit sauce for the pancakes was awesome. Unusual to have meatballs for breakfast but they were the best. Will always come back

Curious about this landmark restaurant with the grass roof and a "goat cam" - yes, it's a real webcam featuring the goats on the restaurant's roof - my wife and I decided to make it one our stops on an extended weekend. The decor is...More

I've been hearing about your fabulous Swedish meatballs, but as we're to be in Sister bay at lunchtime, I have wondered if you offer lunch-sized portions which include that item?

I'm pretty sure they don't have a lunch portion per say. Ive had side portions as small as 4 meat balls per serving, and larger entrée portions. Make sure to get the gravy and a side of lingon berry. Plan on napping... More

We noticed that he trees in front were taken down and now there is no shade for your goats when they are on the roof. We were fortunate enough to see them in the morning but when we came by later at around 1:30 they were not there and there were a bunch of disappointed people looking for them. We were wondering why the changes to the front of the building?

Hi Laurie! The Village of Sister Bay did road construction that affected the front of Al's. Sadly, we lost our trees in the process. There are special goat shade shelters for our roof being constructed so the "kids" can... More
