We bought a cabin in the area last spring and have been to Pine Ridge a few times over the summer . We especially enjoy the pit ham alfredo and the blackened scallops , tried the ribs last week and they were also very good....Also love going for the Spaghetti and Chicken on Sunday nights.More

We have loved and taken guests to this restaurant over the last three years. Everyone has enjoyed it as much as we have. However, after trying to support them thru COVID, we’ve been more than dissatisfied with a few things. When we were in for...the fish fry several weeks ago, we were seated at one of the long communal tables in the entry/bar area. It wasn’t the worst and we understood they’ve removed tables and we had to take “our turn” dining in that area. We went again last night. It was a very cold night and it appears there’s no heat in that entry/bar area. When asked if we would be okay with sitting and eating in the bar area. I kind of shrugged and said we’d prefer the main dining room. We were promptly brought over to one of the long communal tables in the entry/bar area. It was freezing in there. I could not take off my coat to even eat. Our plates were ice cold and when the food came it was cold very quickly. The food wasn’t enjoyable(and the fry bread was raw in the center). We ate quickly and left without enjoying the food or the atmosphere. We’re wondering if we’ll go back. We’re very sad because we encouraged people to go there and the experience has definitely deteriorated.More

Well the tourists really think this is awesome, we are locals and decided to take our guests there as it was the only fish fry on a Sunday night. What a disappointment, we didn’t mind waiting an hour as they have nice seating areas outside...and that was fine. But the fish had no taste, the server told us it was walleye, it’s not walleye and it was a little insulting as I fish for walleye all the time. I don’t mind a bad meal from time to time, it happens, but these were out of town guests so excited for a fish fry. Two things don’t go here if you don’t like a crowds of tourists cause this is we’re they go and two there are better selections for fish fry in the area, this visit was not good.More

Food was great. People are required to join a wait list instead of reservations. We joined the list at about 3:45 pm and got seated about 6pm and there were 400 people behind us. That alone should tell you about the quality of the food....Our family of six ate for a little over $100.00. Family style service and all you can eat. Well worth the wait.More

The food was delightful and filling, worth the wait....Yes there is a wait, no reservations but there is a wait list, and it is a busy place....so you might want to go early. There is a bar if you are interested and you can wait...outside if you chose. The meal was priced right for two and the servings were well enough for two. They do have other items on the menu, but the fish fry is one of the top rated in this area.More

I would not recommend. We called ahead for a takeout order. We were told it would be ready at 7:15. We got there at 7:15, waited in line for 15 minutes to pay while 1 lady in a boot who was taking orders, payments and being...the bar tender. She would take money, not wash her hands, prepare a drink, reach into get out an orange slice or lime with her hands to place in the customers drink and then do it all over again. I waited until 8 pm for our order that was supposed to be ready at 7:15. ( I placed my order at 6:30) when I asked for compensation or even an apology I was told “there are people who have waited a lot longer then you.” Don’t waste your time going there.More

We visited (4th time) in June when they were not seating inside for fish fry - yet other nights they did allow inside seating. Eating at the picnic tables outside requires some advance prep: be prepared to clean the table yourself; you order inside, tell...clearly what you want, but it can be delivered by a clueless staff who doesn't offer to get anything that's missing. There are no plates - you eat off their styrofoam. No salt and pepper - if you ask for butter for baked potato, you WILL get sour cream. You go back inside for each item you are missing - and wait in line. Bring bug spray and late afternoon sun is hot - sparse shade. No napkins. The chicken served is the best anywhere in the country - fish is ok, but tar tar sauce is mundane. Coleslaw is good, if you like soft cranberries in it. Skip the mysterious 'fry bread' - fish fry in WI require good rolls or breads. This stuff is like pulling apart old taffy - and why in the world anyone wants a sweet 'breakfast' bread with their fish fry is a total mystery to us. They need to have a set up where guests can help themselves to plates, napkins/wipes/salt and pepper packages, butter - or even extra plastic utensils. You bus your own table, too -- so if it's a long drive, until there's better service, pick another spot.More

Wow!!!!! What a delightful Fish Fry!!! Dining outside at a picnic table in June during Covid. Way more food then 4 of us could eat. First time dining here but this will NOT be the last time. Coming back in July. This time I am...ordering the same thing, great weather, no bug, and of course FISH FRY. The couple we were with is VERY picky about fried fish. This was one of his top 5 places for fried fish.More

If you are looking for a good fish fry, Friday it is here. Be prepared to wait!! Although it is fun to have a couple of adult beverages in the parking lot and meet some new friends. Saturday and Sundays are full menu which is...awesome. On Fridays you can only get the fish fry no other menu options are available.More

After hearing rave reviews about this place, we decided to try it on a Thursday night when it wasn't so busy. It was still busy but not bad. Got a table by the window overlooking the lake. We started with an appetizer of garlic shrimp...and it was great. Shrimp were small though. My husband had their Thursday night special which was a grilled chicken breast with wild rice and I had their grilled chicken with pasta in an alfredo sauce. Both were very good. Nice atmosphere. Attentive wait staff. Will have to go back and try their fish fry. Heard it was great.More

Worth the wait for the fried (or broiled) Walleye, chicken, slaw, fries (or baked potato), and fry bread! This is a Friday night (and Sunday at this place) tradition in the North Woods and if you're visiting the area, you should plan to eat here....The restaurant is only open from 4-?? There's plenty of seating while you wait - or bring your own chairs and corn hole game - have a beverage - it's worth it! It's a bit of an out of the way location, but the setting is beautiful and the food is great and plentiful. The fish was fantastic! So was the chicken, but we didn't even know we were getting AYCE fish AND chicken for $15/person. We arrived at 4:45 on a Friday and didn't eat until 7 pm so prepare for a wait. This is a popular spot. Food is served family style. We'd like to try the regular menu on another night to taste what else they have to offer. Great full bar inside and an outside beer bar as well.More

Word to the wise that they have suspended their take out service on Fridays. You may want to call ahead to see if they are allowing take out before showing up and wasting your time. Hopefully this is just a busy summer time issue.
