Food was outstanding! Unique choices and food combinations at this farm-to-table restaurant. Cocktails were excellent as well. They have an "old-fashioned of the month" as well. Definitely not a place if you are a picky eater or only want chicken strips and fries. Service, however, was another story. They seemed short staffed. We had to ask for water refills; they... More

Our food was outstanding! Interesting, farm-to-table menu with unique combinations. Exquisitely prepared and plated. Cocktails were also fabulous. They have an "old-fashioned of the month" as well. This is not the place for you if you are a picky eater or want chicken strips with fries. The service was lacking however. It felt short staffed; we had to ask for... More

Had a marvelous several course dinner. Each course was thoughfully created using local farm ingredients. The service was prompt and friendly. Enjoyed conservation with friends in the relaxed atmosphere. This restaurant also was generous enough to provide 5,000 meals for participants in an MS charity event! Recommend supporting this great Whitewater member!

My husband and I decided to try The Black Sheep. Loved the atmosphere and loved the chalkboard that told us what farms they work with. My husband had the steak special, I had the seasonal risotto. We were happy with both. Chef Tyler came to our table to ask about our dinners and to talk about dessert. My husband ordered... More

We had steaks, fish etc. Wine was very good. Service was excellent. Prices were high, but that was expected. It was a special dinner out like fathers' day or mother's day dinner.

My Grown Son, Grandson (7) , a friend and myself were looking for a place to grab lunch after my Grandson's football game. I read a few reviews about the Black Sheep before I posted this and saw that the majority of the reviews were good, with a few not so good ones here and there. I have been in... More

August Sunday lunch - with only two people working. Total. Very nice and friendly, but couldn't keep up. Very long wait to get our meals for four people. The food looked delicious, but none of the four orders tasted that great. And parts weren't fresh. So disappointing. Two weeks prior we had a very positive experience at a catered event... More

Driving through town and read the reviews. Stopped for lunch. Delicious farm to table food. Great radish salad using the whole radish, greens included with a horseradish dressing. The caprese ravioli and blueberry risotto were excellent. We ended the meal with French press coffee and pots du creme. We will be back.

The Black Sheep is a very creative and unexpected surprise in a land of Culver's and Taco Bells. The menu appears very inspired and interesting, the beer offerings great, but the wine list a bit lean. Our appetizers included a salmon salad with feta. The dressing was a little watery. The mussels were great. My entree was a chicken Fettuccini... More

Description
Chef Tyler - "I've called it The Black Sheep. We are different and our menu is different. We work with local farmers and producers to bring in local and fresh wine, meats, cheeses, and produce, whenever possible. We go to the farms to see how the animals are cared for and the land is protected. We purchase just enough to keep fresh products rather than fill freezers. We are passionate about food."
