I have been to the brat house many times...it's a crap shoot...sometimes it's palatable then other times ..hmmm they couldn't even make a grilled cheese...it was cold and soggy.

Went for a late lunch and one girl was taking care of six big tables but we weren't in a hurry and she was very nice...started with some cheese curds....wow! Had the sausage sampler and it was excellent. The home made chips are excellent and so much better than fries...we may go back tomorrow!

My wife and I will stop here if we want a friendly beer and sandwich. I enjoys the tv viewing when there is a game going on. Friendly easy stop.

We stopped here Saturday night after the Lee Brice concert. It is one of the only places in town that is open until 2am. The atmosphere was great and so were all the people in here. The food was fantastic. I had a swiss with mushroom brat and my husband had an Italian beef sandwich. They both came with homemade... More

While traveling back to Indiana from Minneapolis we stopped off in the Wisconsin Dells to get some food and see the sights. We both had appetites for brats and fried cheese curds. This was the perfect place for our taste buds. A former church converted to pub/restaurant had a quirky but comfortable decor. The brats were awesome and the hand... More

My husband and I had a date night out in Wisconsin dells in April. He really wanted to try the Brat House. Great choice!! This place has a perfect bar/eatery in front, but it also has a full dining area in the back. Our waitress was on top of it and very friendly. Then we met another woman who was... More

First time we ever stopped here. We had burgers, onion rings, fried pickles, and a brat burger. Service and food were good and we would come back.

We were served by Brittany and she is fast and friendly. This place is a bar(also family friendly dining room), worth the stop. 2 dart boards, large Jenga and some Wisconsin 1¢ slots. We saw a regular "shake a day" Great pub food at reasonable prices.

I think that our expectations were just too high. The steak sandwich was very good. Not everyone else was as thrilled with what they ordered. Service was friendly, but not really quick.

The staff here is outstanding they will keep you laughing. The food is typical bar with the exception of the soups which were exceptional. The front of the building is a reclaimed church so if you set at the bar you are actually in church. The rear of the building is setup for tables like an old fashion dinner. A... More

Description
Originally constructed in 1850, the Delton Academy was a one room Baptist Boys Schoolhouse. In 1865, it became the Delton Methodist Church. In 1894, the church was expanded and the entryway and side room additions were built. What was originally the entrance was replaced with the G.A.R. stained glass window and the bell tower was added. During this period it was also used as the G.A.R. Hall. The Grand Army of the Republic was the Civil War version of the V.F.W. for the Union army. In 1868, General Order #11 of the G.A.R. called for May 30th to be designated as the day of memorial for Union veterans; originally called "Decoration Day", it later evolved into the U.S. national Memorial Day holiday. The G.A.R. was also active in pension legislation, establishing retirement homes for soldiers, and many other areas which concerned Union veterans. The influence of the G.A.R. led to the creation of the Old Soldiers' Homes of the late 19th century, which evolved into the current United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The back room, bathroom and kitchen addition was added sometime in the 1950's. In the 1970's, the building was then purchased by a group of local residents and it became the Old Delton Academy Antique Mall. In the spring of 2007, the building underwent a revamping and became what it is today; the oldest public building in southwest Wisconsin and home of the Brat House Grill. The building still retains it's original wood floor, wainscoting and window frames. It's remarkable what great shape the building is in after it's extensive and varied history.
