TONS of really good sounding choices on the menu! We ended up choosing the prime rib and were not disappointed! The salads were large, and our appetizer (crab stuffed mushrooms) were good as well. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. We will be stopping again...More

Good burgers, salads, and soup too. The atmosphere is great and the wine selection is one of the best I've ever seen.

If you are looking for an amazing dinner. Here it is. A little pricey, but for a place you are not gonna go every night, worth every penny.

We stopped in for Cinco d' Mayo. The margaritas were the best we've had! Bread loaf was fresh and perfect. Crab bisque was excellent. Baby backs were smokey and sweet. Primal rib was awesome. Double baked spuds were delicious. No room for desert!! We'll try...More

Dined at many places in Gillette and this place is the best. The best service (thanks Robin), the best food, the best drinks, the best atmosphere all at good prices! Owners even came by, intoduced themselves and treated us like royalty.

A very high-class atmosphere with a hometown feel. This is a great place for a fancy meal and fine dining that you can also take your (well-behaved) kids to. It is a little spendy but for that special night it is definitely worth it.

Went for dinner with some colleagues on a business trip. Started out with the table side guacamole which was very good. Two of us ordered the aged boneless ribeye which was a very very good steak. Very flavorful and tender. The third in our party...More

This is a good classic steakhouse. I had a good steak here. The service was good as well. the waitstaff is mostly middle aged. They have no problem showing some personality and having fun as they go about their business. Overall, an enjoyable meal.

After a long haul flight, this was a great experience. Service was rootin-tootin' top-notch. Steak was cooked to perfection. I'll be back for sure. APW

The Prime Rib Restaurant & Wine Cellar offers a fine but casual dining experience to patrons in Gillette, Wyoming, and surrounding areas. Founded in 1983 by Ed & Phyllis Vanscoy, The Prime Rib is currently owned and operated by Ken Barkey. Ken was the manager since 1983 and bought the restaurant from Ed & Phyllis in 1991. After an extensive renovation in 2008 that added a state of the art 10,000 bottle wine cellar and private meeting & dining space the property became The Prime Rib Restaurant & Wine Cellar. We have a large comprehensive menu that provides guests with something from “old school” Chicken Fried Steak to Signature aged steaks, chicken dishes, pastas, fresh fish and our specialty, the Slow Roasted tasty and tender Prime Rib as well as an extensive dessert list.
As an upscale yet casual restaurant, The Prime Rib provides top-quality wines from all over the world. Bottles are kept in a state-of-the-art, glass-enclosed wine cellar located in the center of the 10,000 square-foot restaurant. There is a great variety of wines starting at under $20 per bottle. Wines are also available “to go” at retail prices.
Most of all we hang our hat on our people. We take pride that many of our staff has been here 10 plus years with many at over 20 years of service. We value our staff as our greatest asset because they take care of our customers and they do it well. Our belief in the saying that: “good food does not survive bad service” is a staple in our philosophy that has enabled us to thrive in all economies since 1983. Please join us and let us serve you.
