Food was delicious and service was excellent. We visited this place on the way to the airport. We didn't expect much as it was a last minute plans change due to delayed flight. There were a lot of people but we got a table for 4 right away. Seafood options seems to be the best. Burgers and salads were very... More

Found this cute place in downtown Hilo when driving around looking for a place for dinner. We arrived around 6:15 pm on a Friday night with no reservation and they told us it was a 30 minute wait. We felt that was doable so we put our name on the list. Unfortunately it turned out to be a 60 minute... More

My husband and I were looking for a lunch spot during our side trip to Hilo. We had been vacationing in Kona and planned to spend the day at National Volcanic Park. We walked along the rustic Kamehameha street and found Cafe Pesto. The building looks like an old saloon and grand hotel. The place was busy and definitely seemed... More

Everything is prepared at this restaurant and the quality of food served from a pizza to lamb chops are delicious. Prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly and attentive. A real gem and unexpected as decor is nothing special and you could easily pass this restaurant and decide it was just another mall type place to eat. Definitely a... More

Always a joy to eat here! Service is great. Politeness the norm! Food choices excellent! Order the smoked pulled turkey sandwich, with chutney and it was superb. I usually have salads which are always great but was up for a change and was delighted with the choice. Looked at deserts but desired they looked to decadent to add to my... More

Seems to be THE place to eat, Set in a cool historic building in the downtown. Coconut crusted calamari very nice; catch of the day can be a salad or an entree. The pizzas looked good as well. still 40$ for lunch for one... was a bit much....

Arrived on Star Princess, rented a car, and went touring the North side of the island. On our return from the lighthouse, we stopped in at the Café Pesto for a light lunch. My wife had the Hakalau (hopefully spelled it right) that was a turkey sandwich with a variety of fixings. I had the Smoked Ham sandwich that had... More

Great food in downtown Hilo. A nice vintage atmosphere. If you don't like pesto there are plenty of other options on the list.

We ended up eating at this restaurant twice in 3 days and found it to be good honest value given there is not much going on in Hilo at night. We had pasta, pizza and some really good salads. The wine offering is oddly priced, so we opted for a glass of wine only. Desserts, the creme brûlée was really... More

Everything is a little different in Hawaii. This is an Italian restaurant but the dishes are just not quite what you would expect if you were on the main land. Prices are not bad.
