We read about Cafe 100 from a Serious Eats article, and decided to make a pit stop here for dinner after a whole days worth of activities. You know a place is worth visiting when there's a wait for food to be ordered and picked up, but no worries, they are fast and there are waiting benches and tables, if... More

I picked here after reviewing high reviews about this place. There are lots of outdoor place to sit and was veryvery crowded with mostly local customers; we had to stay in line. Its famous for "Locomoco"which is a breakfast kind of food consisting of rice topped with fried eggs and side of "Spam" or Porteguese sausages covered with gravy. We... More

Arrived with a group of eleven during the lunch rush and still had food in front of everyone in 12 minutes! We had several of the Locos, couple of plates and two of the shrimp specials. Everyone finished the food and had good things to say. The total bill came to 85 USD. Great price, service, food.

The tour guide book said that this the origin of the loco moco, so we had to try it even though I do not like loco moco. I ordered a loco moco just to try one and was pleasantly surprised that they have wonderful gravy which isn't gravy but more like a sauce over their hamburger, eggs and rice. Prices... More

Cafe 100 is home of the Loco Moco so I tried it and my husband ordered the Super Moco (rice, hamburger, Portuguese sausage, Spam, 2 eggs, brown gravy and a side of mac salad. Both were great and filling!

This cafe has been around forever,(1948) it would be hard to find a more "local" eating place on the island, well, maybe Kawamoto Store, but this place is amazing also. I always come here when I return to the island. They are the old meeting place of the 442nd battalion, and claim the naming of the loco moco, along with... More

Heading back to Kona after a long morning hike up at Volcano. We stopped off here for lunch. Our family of 4 ate here and were quite satisfied for our ride home. We ordered the tonkatsu plate, the mix plate, and fried shrimp plate. Food is cooked to order so you know it's fresh. You order at the window and... More

After checking out the Volcano National Park and before driving back to Kona side, we stopped by this place for some local food; do try the Super Local, which has a lot of food; the drinks are pretty good. I also ordered a peach turnover, not bad at all. Did I mention the price is very reasonable? So stop by... More

We were recommended this local favorite. The fish was nice but nothing special or really fresh. The potato mac was good but no special flavor. Seek out other local favs with good ratings.

Walk up windows, picnic type tables under roof. Fast service, not a long wait. They have a pretty extensive menu including several choices of loco - rice, egg, meat, brown gravy. Excellent! VERY affordable.
