Have to stop in for an Ahi tuna burger after visiting the falls, it's fantastic. I'd never heard of Ahi before (I'm Canadian) but very happy it was recommended. The restaurant looks like an authentic old Hawaiian place, very comfortable & friendly. Service is good, smiles all around.

Great service and the quality of the merchandise was fantastic. Only stopped on a whim on our way back from Akaka falls but was delighted to find handcrafted and gallery type works (the shop next door is the typical souvenir place) A great little find on the big island, well worth a look around for that something special, I didn't... There are not many places near the Akaka Falls to eat. This is a decent place to grab lunch and an ice cream on a hot day!

The chicken teriyaki plate was filling and good. The Mac and Cheese was just the Kraft Mac and Cheese and the cashier did mention that. The tuna sandwich is canned tuna which is mentioned on the menu also. Nothing really special. The Gallery however, had a lot of beautiful locally made items. Fun to go through while waiting for your... More

All things Hawaii are in this little shop. Very nice items for sale at reasonable prices. Lots of local artists are featured too! Shop local, it's good for the economy!

This café is on the way to Akaka falls in the small village of Honomu. We had lunch here which was good old home cooking and reasonably priced. We had the wraps (fish and chicken) which were excellent. Our friends said their wrap was "the best they have ever had". The lunch plates also looked very good. Nice people, great... More

This is a tiny restaurant in the tiny village of Honomu. The village has a street of a few stores and a couple of places to eat. This one is adjacent to an art store. The restaurant is very much a down home operation. There is one person cooking and one taking your money. Most sandwich and rice plate are... More

We were passing through and found this place. My husband had the mango chicken and he said it was "delish!" I had the mahi sandwich and had the same opinion. The service was done although it was pretty quiet in there today. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Wow, the Taro root is now a burger! Mixed with just the right portion of cruch potato chips, the perfect pickles and a mouth watering seasoning mix to a whole health veggie and WOW. I returned an hour later looking for another, the first time I experienced the perfect taste, quick hearty meal of my new favorite Taro burger. Sadly... More

We stopped here after going to Akaka Falls and wow were we glad. We had the Teri Ahi Sandwich which was seared to perfection and the Hawaiian Teri Burger which was really good. The home-made ice cream is super creamy, yum. Attached to the café is a wonderful art gallery that has been there for many years showing off it's... More
