It has been over a year since my wife and myself ate at the Hawaiian Style Cafe. It still remains my favourite breakfast cafe. Not only is the food great and served in great quantity but the serving staff is outstanding. Lots of the aloha spirit is evident. This time we found we could escape the lineup by coming for... This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. He mentioned we had to get the pancakes! Now we see why! Not only were they delicious, they were huge! We had 10 people eating in our party from 70 years old to eight years old, and there was something for everyone. I had the taro stew which was my best... More

We went with a group of 10 people. I sat down at available tables, waiting for the one in between to open up. That seemed to have been not the way to do it, but it all worked out in the end. If you're with a group, there is a sheet where you write your name. You must pay cash... More

So so yummy! Kalbi ribs, breakfast-style were awesome. But beware the pancakes, they are enormous!! Waimea location better than Hilo.

Everything is great. Only draw backs (not enough to lose a star tho) are that it is cash only place and that you have to wait forever to get seated on weekends.

The food at this place is incredible. The waiters are very friendly and courteous. The only reason this place doesn't get an excellent is because the restaurant itself is quite run down and old. But definitely check it out if your in the area for great Breakfast!

How amazing this is. Be prepared. This is some serious food. Cash only. Teri loco moco-- best hamburger patty I've ever had. Banana Mac nut pancakes- off the charts good. Do know that two pancakes here is about 8-10 normal pancakes. It's absurd in all the best ways!

If you want a place where the locals go, that is reasonably priced, has excellent service, and you like "lots for your $$, this is the place. Pancakes are as big as manhole covers - if you can eat more than one, go for it. Food is excellent and prepared with "love of their customers." If you are making your... More

We had a simple breakfast including eggs, pancakes, french toast. The pancakes are crazy enormous and fluffy. Coffee with continuous fill ups. Eggs and french toast were also good. Bring cash, no credit cards.
