I understand almost everything in Maui is going to cost more than usual, but 5 Palms was really overpriced considering the limited menu items. The atmosphere is quite nice, and that is what you're paying for. The food is average at best, and portion sizes are small. My biggest complaint, however, is our rude server. When my son asked about... More

Our group of 4 went for happy hour eyesterday. The wait to be seated was about 10 minutes. We ordered a variety of 1/2 price appies along with a drink each. The brussel sprouts were very good as were the Korean wings and coconut prawns. Very busy at this time. Waitress was overrun I expect because one of our drinks... More

I had eggs benedict, my husband had oatmeal, both were presented very nicely, and were average in flavor. I can't really say anything good or bad about the place, servers were friendly (although I think Kenneth might have been a bit hung over, and forgot to shave that morning), but I would just give this an average rating, you do... My husband and I went to 5 Palms yesterday during Happy Hour, such a great experience!!! The location is beautiful, right on the beach in paradise. We had the coconut crusted prawns, calamari, and spicy tuna roll. My favorite was probably the calamari - really yummy!!! The coconut crusted prawns were very good, but I'm not sure even the happy... Cozy dining area. Outdoor ocean front seating with gorgeous scenery. Relaxing atmosphere where you can sit and sip or dine and watch the waves.

Went for Happy Hour. Although the hostess (who must have been having a bad day) tossed us at the Sushi bar , the waitress was very efficient and the service was good. Nice variety of appetizers and sushi available (mainly in the 10-12 range), along with the standard drafts, mai tais (6.75) and margarita's. Gets pretty crowded around sunset, so... More

You cannot beat the view from the beachfront restaurant here. It spoils you. This time I found the food not as good as I had remembered it. The chicken with noodles in the Early Bird Dinner was bland. The spinach salad for lunch was plain and pricey. Finding a seat was easy, and everybody was most pleasant.

We made a reservation, and arrived at our required time. We approached what looked to be the seating queue and waited in line. No one said anything as we waited. Finally after about 20 minutes a very snarky hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. We stated that we had dinner reservations 3 different times. Each time... More

We stayed at the Mana Kai and only ate at the 5 Palms once. The service was good. The four of us all agreed that it was the least remarkable of all the restaurants we ate at on our 10 day trip to Oahu and Maui. Maybe you will have a different experience.

This is a must every year for us, my husband and I love heading to the 5 Palms for Happy Hour! Late afternoon, grab a table with a view of the ocean, enjoy amazing Sushi, Ribs and cocktails while taking in the sunset. It really doesn't get better than this and there aren't many places to catch the sunset while... More
