The food was good, but the rice is extra with certain dishes, as is the naan. We had an appetizer of vegetable fritters, which were tasty. I had the chicken saag, which was mostly spinach. My husband had the tandoori lamb, which was very good. We also ordered a side of vegetable naan, and we liked that. Overall, it was... More

First time dining at Punjab and what a nice experience. The staff is really friendly and the food good and flavorful. Not expensive at all and right off Market and 5th. The dining area is nice and clean but not the bathroom. Give it a try.

Punjab kabab house is situated near the union square area and serves grilled food and curries, with halal meat. A variety of vegetarian dishes and rice biryani is also available. Generally quality is reasonable but food is a bit spicy.

Located just a block and a half-away from Powell BART station, but sufficiently off the main drag that it was less crowded and touristy, in fact I saw actual Indian people eating there, which is always a good sign. The menu is very traditional - I ordered the Lamb Biryani and the Palak Paneer. Both were excellent, properly seasoned, and... More

Very friendly staff and good authentic pakistani food that will not ruin your budget. We enjoyed eating there and felt very comfortable thanks to friendly waiters who did everything to make our stay pleasant. The restaurant does not sell alcohol, but will not mind if you bring it your own from the adjacent liquor store - they have beer and... More

Great food. Affordable prices. On the edge of Tenderloin but safe. Clean restaurant. I had the eggplant which was medium to hot. Hubby has the cheese in tomato sauce. Canʻt remember the actual names. Sorry. But the food was delicious. Had it with a side of whole wheat flat bread. The meals come with a huge pitcher of water for... More

I was staying in a hotel in the area and had walked by several times. The lunch deal seemed very reasonable, but when I actually took it I can say that I was rather underwhelmed. Portion size was on the small side, and the tandoori chicken was nothing special. Worth while to drop in for a cheap lunch, but this... More

This is really the place to go. High quality dishes and low prices. Friendly service. Even our youngsters were very enthusiastic. We will go again.

My friend is a vegetarian and we came here for lunch. I got the combo chicken meal and she got the vegetarian. Portions were large, lots of naan, and the food tasted very flavorful and good! The only downside is the very limited lunch menu.

What an awesome staff! They seated us minutes before closing and did not rush us at all. Made the visit so much more enjoyable. Their menu is plentiful. Food scrumptious! Definitely a repeat restaurant. Thank you.
