Took my 27 year old daughter for dinner and we loved it. We had four different small plates and each was better than the last. The waiter recommended the octopus and it rocked. Lots of interesting ingredient combinations. The waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere unique. "Industrial boathouse?" Regardless, it worked for us!

This was a great place for a business lunch. The food was great and the environment was incredible. I was also very impressed as they accommodated for our needs.

Dined there at hotel recommendation. They only serve beer and wine so we were disappointed to learn we couldn't get a Bloody Mary. I asked for a sweet white wine and waiter seemed offended by that. They don't serve that either. Maybe it's a cali thing we are from the east where sweet white is a. Or all request. Menu... More

Loved this restaurant. Food was fabulous. Beautiful presentation and some unusual combinations. Service was extremely good. Ambience was lively and fun. Loved the interior; very edgy with the trendy 'industrial' look. Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would highly recommend.

Hard to find in a side alley, this revealed itself as a gem. Super cool interior with a size not to big. We have fantastic pork belly with Yuzu Cabbage, Most tender mussels with chorizo and great crisp salmon! Along with that they have a great selection of fine craft beers. I would recommend this experience.

A local friend recommended this for a 'last minute' nice meal - and we weren't disappointed. Fun space, great service - attentive but casual. Interesting beers & solid wine list, good cocktails - and great seafood. We couldn't decide on entrees, and instead just started working our way down the 'left side' of the menu - and glad we did.... This restaurant is housed in a barn. Looks like the barn was built 100 years ago. It's a great restaurant with delicious food. They have a wonderful happy hour with a variety of small dishes and drinks. If you like oysters, they are only $1 each during happy hour. The place gets crowded so get there early if you don't... Six of us without reservations late on a Sunday night? Not a problem. Tried all the appetizers on the menu, salads, chowder, charcoal grilled octopus, pig belly, cevice plus several desserts. Entres at other tables looked fabulous. Highly recommended.

This establishment seemed pretty upscale and the prices proved it. The bar was the only open seats upon arrival but that was ok. The servers were very nice and helpful and knew a lot about the food and the alcohol served. I tried the fish and chips that was suggested and they were good but nothing special.

Oysters were the reason to stop in for lunch. No question they were good on flavor but the shuck was so poor Stuck to shell, juice gone, and chips of shell in every bite. Wow what a disappointment Petrale sole 8/10 Homemade (I think chips) 9/10 Wine list 8/10 Decent food great staff.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
