The wait was quite long and the place itself extremely noisy. Service was very slow. The food though was very good. This would really get a 3.5 out of 5, not really a 3 or a 4. Location and food quality were very good, but didn't out weigh the noise, slow service, and long wait.

This was a lively, crowded Mexican restaurant and with good reason. The food was mouth watering delicious. Had the chicken burrito and it was filling!!

This lovely restaurant did not disappoint. My wife order the old school plate and I had the plate with the spicy shrimp as pictured. Everything tasted great. The waitress was really nice and we decided to just pip in and the wait was not as long as expected. About 20 minutes wait instead of 45m to 1hr. We highly recommend... More

This is a casual Mexican restaurant in which you order and pay at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. I ordered a shrimp taco and a fish taco. There is a self-service salsa bar to compliment the basket of chips brought to your table. The chips were light and crunchy. All of the several salsas that... More

The location was an easy walk from our hotel (Hilton Union Square.) It's a small yet bustling restaurant. The bartenders were amazing to watch as they moved quickly to keep up with the crowd. We eventually got a small table for two (space around the tables was very tight.) The salsa and dips that came with chips before the meal... More

After reading positive reviews on Tripdvisor, we decided to try this restaurant as we are keen Mexican food lovers. However, there were several issues and we were unfortunately disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant and requesting a table we were informed that we would be seated withing a few minutes. However, there many other people also waiting for a table (some... More

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch, barely beating the rush! He and I absolutely love Mexican food and this place was fabulous. So many salsas to choose from, the chips were fresh and crispy... the meat (beef and chicken) was tender and juicy, making the tacos, enchiladas and chile relenos exceptionally delicious. Even the rice and beans were... More

Jet lagged and worn out, we nabbed the last seats at the bar. A few margaritas later the world was looking much better and we'd made a few fun friends. The fajitas were great too.

My wife and I were recommended this restaurant for dinner by our concierge while on vacation in San Francisco. We opted to walk to the restaurant and unfortunately, the night we chose was one of the rainiest in years. By the time we walked the few blocks from our hotel, we were soaked. We had to wait 45-60 minutes for... More

We were seated right beneath a speaker, so it was hard to hear the waitress or my dinner companion. Not sure why people put speakers directly over tables. Other than that, the food was absolutely incredible, the place was clean and the staff was friendly. It's conviently located too.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
