This place is much more for locals than it is for tourists - and is wonderful, warm, and welcoming on a cold night. Seating is prompt, service is flexible, and the food is fantastic. If you are near the Legion of honor this is just over and 33rd and Clement - you'll get significant bang for your buck here, prices... More

I'm writing as a devoted customers who has come on average every other week and spent over one thousand dollars at Panang over the past twelve months alone. I have personally recommended this restaurant a dozen times to people/tourists who have come in. I will not be returning nor will I send any more business to this establishment. We called... More

I've never had burmese food, and a friend took us here for dinner. It was incredible. The food is sort of a mixture between thai and indian and tastes incredible. It was also really good value for money. We got enough food to feed 3 for about $50.

Granted, this was our first experience with Burmese food, but we are pretty food savvy and appreciate good food. What struck us here was the freshness of the food and even a few organic ingredients. The tea leaf salad was incredible, dressed and tossed at the table for prime freshness. This visit we stuck to seafood and vegetable dishes and... More

Food is ok though service is a bit slow. We came in after a hike so it is closer to 1:45p, not exactly rush hour. We waited quite a while just for water and the waitress was flustered when we asked for water so I ended up drinking from my own water bottle. -Mixed appetizer is just a plate of... More

Had a take-away... samosas for starter were fine but the rest was terrible and ended up in the trash. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

For many months we've wanted to try out this place which was suggested to us as an alternative to the overly-popular Burma Superstar. Glad we gave these folks a visit, but not sure how frequently we'll be back. Maybe next visit we will try out the Thai dishes. Very convenient if visiting the Legion of Honor. It's definitely more than... More

We enjoyed most of the food, though I thought their Thai food was much prettier and much tastier than their Burmese food. Of course we ordered the tea leaf salad (without shrimp) and it was good, but too salty and not great. A Burmese tofu dish was fine, but way too oily. The Thai tofu eggplant dish was beautiful and... It is a small but nice place. Service is very fast which is great especially with a toddler. The menu has many options. We've been here before and have food the food quality to be consistently good.

We were searching for a lunch spot on a Sunday, and ended up here simply because we could park nearby. We love Burmese and Thai, and we knew nothing about Pagan, but it did not disappoint. 3 of us shared the tea leaf salad, spicy green beans with pork, pumpkin curry with shrimp, and lamb biriyani rice. The service was... More
