Cafe de la Presse has a lot going for it. The location is two blocks from Union Square and basically across the street from China town. It's very convenient to much of the central city. The restaurant itself would fit easily among countless Paris streets....More

We did not want the same-old city breakfast, and as this restaurant was right across the street form our hotel we thought we would try it - and it was excellent! Good service, tasty food and interesting combinations. We would definitely return here.

This place exudes Paris! (Yes, I have seen the real thing) Waitron was Argentinian – can’t have everything. He was, however, excellent. We ate steak frites, naturally. Good, if a little expensive, choice. Wine was French and reasonable (and expensive). Nice ambience, good service and...More

We just finished shopping at China Town and had delicious French onion soup, bread, and a delightful sandwich!

This establishment needs a major shakeup in every way. Can't say anymore as there too much to point out where and why it is so dreadful.

Visited on a previous trip to SF so returned. Whilst the food and setting had not changed the staff had. Waiter was unhelpful and curt and had no interest in chat or politeness. Spoilt the meal and will not return. Avoid.

This is a nice cafe in a hip area that's surrounded by upmarket retail brands and hotels. The menu is primarily defined in French and offers some interesting meal options. It's priced higher than most places but the food quality and taste is convincing. The...More

I had been to the Cafe De La Presse two years prior when it was busy. We had to flag down a server for more coffee at least twice but we attributed it to the full restaurant. This time, my daughter and I were among...More
