I didn't eat any food, so this review is purely based on the beer experience. Right on the trolley line, the restaurant looks pretty small and unassuming when you step inside, but go down the spiral iron stair case to the basement where the bar...More

Solo traveler. At first I thought the place was closed, as the ground floor was empty however I then noticed a sign, saying they were downstairs in the cellar. Good atmosphere downstairs. HUGE selection of beers and the ones I had were very good. I...More

If you desire a different pallet, here is the place for you. The Belgian dishes are great and very, very tasty. I recommend eating down stairs, as you have a better feel of a Belgian stone cottage. the meat and vegetables were so good. the...More

Quite unexpected to be drinking Kwaremont beer from Oudenaarde, Belgium (where I live) in San Francisco. Nice food and good beers!

I have never seen such a wide selection of beer, they give you a book with plastic inserts with the various selections. Truly amazing. The food is special too, mussels being the favourite, but great burgers too. For some reason they fill the cellar bar...More

One of my favorite SF meals ever. It's cozy, euro, inviting, and everything on the menu is DELICIOUS!!! I was not expecting this from the modest exterior, but OMG come in, especially on a cold, SF day, go down the stairs to the more "taverny"...More

We decided to stop after a walk on North Beach. This is a really nice place to have a good beer (a lot of options on the menu) and eat some appetizer). We're surprised by the kind service by the waiter. Definitely recommended!

First stop on trip to San Francisco. Everything was great, including great Belgian beers, and I highly recommend the portobello mushroom, twice cooked fries, and smoked salmon arugula salad. The one disappointment and reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the smoked trout...More

I'm a sucker for great Trappist ales, and La Trappe delivers! An authentic Belgian experience, complete with mussels and fries. The dessert waffle was delicious!

Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential
neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner.
Combined with several great cafes, restaurants,
antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any
visitor would gladly leave their heart in San
Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down
Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world,
and make the slow creep downhill past charming period
