I've been here a couple of times. I stay at Villa Florence quite often, so end up at Bar Norcini with some regularity. Try the dried meat/cheese board. They always have great happy hour specials.

Too expensive for the value provided and not good service at all. There are a number of options less than a block away.

Fresh everything. Beautiful environment. Pretend you are in Europe, unless you are from Europe! Great barista.

Surprisingly good coffee and light breakfast options while watching the world walk by. Situated around a Bar in a Hotel lobby, this characteristic place offer simple options but well done by the enthusiastic staff. for those tourists in a hurry I recommend the Bacon & Egg panini with a great LaVazza cappuccino

We dropped in to sample the wines at the very reasonable "happy hour" prices and stayed to try the cheeses as well. In this expensive city, this was a bargain. The only drawback was that this busy cable car route also draws some disagreeable panhandlers from the nearby tenderloin area so it is advisable to sit inside to avoid them.... More

we stopped here to look at the passing parade of people, have a glass of wine and anti pasta. All were good quality and we moved inside to dine on the superb veal.

We passed this bar and stop for a drink. Couldn't resist their Salumi Board which was very nice indeed. We didn't ordered anything else other than our drinks. Should try if you're in the Union Square area.

The early morning coffee here is delicious! It is self serve and we were in and out in a matter of minutes. They offer a selection of tasty parties in the morning. We did not eat or drink here later in the day, but they have a steady business well into the evening.

Also in the Villa Florence hotel. When I stayed there in the past, this is where I sat to have dinner as a single traveler. The food came from Kuleto's. It was excellent. Not sure if they still do this. (Really should have asked.) This visit, we stopped for a mid-afternoon cappuccino and a sweet snack to tide us through... More
