We had to wait for 45 minutes past our reservation time for a table. Comped a glass of wine. The food was good and the staff were all friendly. We had to ask for bread twice and it didn't come until after the entrees were served. Had to ask for pepper. The noise level makes it difficult to carry on... More

I read great reviews about this restaurant. The service was very friendly and effective, the food good, nothing was bad but nothing exceptional, not very creative for sure. And the wait between the salad and the main course was for sure too long. I will for sure go back but do not consider this place as special as I expected

Bisou is a small bistro on Market Street adjacent to the Castro, so it's easy to miss, but it's worth seeking out for a meal. We stopped in for a relatively early dinner, maybe 6:30 on a Wednesday before Christmas. It was not busy, but in such a small place even a few diners can make it feel cozy and... More

The best food we have had on our so far one month tour in the Bay Area. Nice staff. Our seating just next to the restroom door in a restaurant filled to the brim on Thanksgiving eve was on the down side. Furthermore with a too busy staff, the forgot to bring us our wine, and we did not get... More

A Brunch that sets standards for quality, freshness and pure satisfaction. With no reservation we sat at the bar which still exceeded most restaurants idea of excellence. The food is mouth-watering and the service personable.

What great find in San Francisco where there are hundreds of great restaurants to choose from. The staff is great and very attentive. And the food delectable. The fois gras was outstanding and the scallop entree was a real treat. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who seeks wonderful French fare with a French wait staff in a totally... More

We opted for dinner in the Castro. Bisou was the perfect choice. Wait staff was excellent and the food was beyond our expectation. Easy to fill up on the French bread before dinner!! Waiter was helpful selecting wine to compliment our dinner. We will be back! Merci Bisou!!

Great place for French food in the Castro. I would not drive across town for this place, but as a local its good. Service varies from good, to ok. Food is always consistently great! I recommend the steak frites and the french onion soup. Im not a steak tartare fan, but this one looks amazing and is made table side.

My favorite French restaurant in San Francisco. The chef is friendly and can be seen walking the dining room welcoming his guests and making them feel welcome. I love meeting friends for dinner here, the food never disappoints. The french onion soup is a must have. My favorite for dinner is the Coq au Vin or Beef Bourguignon. They have... More

From the warm welcome to to superior service, this is the place to be! Fresh, fun, and friendly. I'm hooked and can't wait to come back. The server never hesitated on my friends drink of choice, the apps and dessert - mmmmmm! This is truly home away from home!

The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
