A great place to eat if you love the arrogance and rudeness that normally is only found with Paris waiters. The food is good though, albeit overpriced.

Best place in all of SF for a good latte and pain au chocolate. Also great sandwiches and salads. but really this place is about the coffee and patisserie

Stopped here for lunch. Terrible service and wrong ingredients in order. Serving staff are not interested. Poor quality food. La boulange de Hayes is a world apart from this place. Could be great.

La Boulange has great coffee, but my most favorite item on their menu was an old fashioned bread pudding, which was out of this world. My grandmother was a great baker and I have never had a bread pudding I considered good enough to compare to hers or better yet, to consider edible. Needless to say, for me to consider... More

La Boulange was THE place to go for a little reminder what French cafes are. The croissants and baguette sandwiches were a little reminder of Paris. NO MORE! From the coffee to the pastries to the sandwiches, it's all MEH. The baguette sandwiches were taken from almost a freezer like holding area. The "fresh" bread is stale and chewy. The... More

We tried La Boulange for breakfast and it was a great choice! They offer a great range of sandwiches and baguettes, as well as pastries and pies, and hot snacks. All is freshly-made and at affordable prices. They have shops all around San Francisco. Service is friendly and fast. Definitely recommend for either breakfast or lunch.

We ate at the La Boulange near our hotel (Omni San Francisco) twice and had very pleasant service, excellent coffee and a delicious quiche. We also split a wonderful smoked trout salad (and my husband is definitely NOT a salad person) at the location near the Yerba Buena gardens. This isn't a fancy place - you order, get a number... Glad we stumbled upon this little place. The croissants were delicious and the mini baguette sandwiches were perfect for a small lunch. We tried many macaroons in the city and these were by far our favorite. Had some every day we were there.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
