Excellent food, rapid service, nice waiters, a very good experience. The best of all, if you go there with kids a playground is close by.

Delicious food, wide range of beers, attentive service. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the food prep. Shared a meal, portions are large! The chocolate pudding dessert was excellent.

Went for dinner at this local German restaurant, we had been there last year and was very good. The Service was prompt and helpful, food was above average, though heaped on the plate ( the chicken snitzel) was an array of undistinguishable accompaniments. My wife and daughter had the Salmon which they both agreed was very good. The appetizer of... More

Started off with good drinks. The pretzel is delicious. The corn soup was tasty. Chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, veal schnitzel and blood sausage were great. The desserts are magnificient; we tried all 4: chocolate pudding, bread pudding, apple strudel and almond/chocolate cookie. Our waitress, Dia, was the best. Suggesting favorites to try and was right with each choice. Will... More

Tried out this neighborhood place because it looked good, but it turned out to be average. Germanic-esque food (not real Germanic food) and beer with average wait staff. When we walked in, there were open tables so assumed we got lucky and beat the crowd, but I was wrong. The place was half empty when we left, so it doesn't... More

Our son took us here the first night of our visit with him in the Mission District - it was a great choice. The food was well prepared and very tasty. The men enjoyed their beers and I enjoyed my German soda. The Laugenbrotchen was a bit late in coming to the table but no worries it arrived. Everyone enjoyed... More

Coming back from Berlin--not even a week back--I was craving Berlin beer and Schnitzel and Waffles (I believe this only a brunch menu item). The Schnitzel not necessarily Berliner sized was a great quality of meat and served with microgreens on top. I love the waffle and the large dollop of butter. A great take on both old and new... Great food and excellent service. I especially liked the Veal Schnitzel. Beers are expensive but nice 200 for 4 people including tip.

A limited menu, but excellent beer and amazing sausages, lots of great authentic sides like pickles and bread. The schnitzel is also great. Place gets jam-packed for dinner so go early if you don't want crowds or noise. Family-friendly (occasionally to a fault when you have somebody's kid under your table). Not cheap eats but not outrageous: two people with... More

We needed a restaurant that was open Monday night, and where reservations weren't needed or could be pretty flexible, because we weren't sure when everyone would arrive. We also needed a restaurant that could accommodate some conservative palates, that was close to public transportation and where parking wasn't totally impossible. We ended up at Schmidt's at Folsom St. and 19th... More
