Wonderful pastrami on rye sandwich, non mayo coleslaw and latke with sour cream and apple. Waiter must have excelled in extrovert academy. Brought home some challah bread. A good experience.

My mom always said if you cannot say anything nice just stop talking. I decided facts are facts. I ordered a sandwich with no bread as I am a celiac. The owner of the restaurant caught wind of my order and decided to personally come over and chew me out for my order. I am still in shock. The poor... More

We were in San Francisco for 3 nights and during that time, we ate lunch twice, brought incredibly delicious rugalah and coconut macaroons 3000 miles across the country, and ordered Passover dinner for our son and daughter-in-law. I think that says a lot about this wonderful deli and we can't wait to return to San Francisco to eat there again.

While visiting San Francisco we decided to try this place that was mentioned in the Westways magazine. We love true deli food and San Francisco is not generally known for its Jewish style delis. Parking can be tricky and the place is small with limited seating. You have to wait in line to order before you save a seat/table. It... More

I found it next to the Contemporary Jewish Museum. I dont eat meat, so I tried the mushroom veggie Ruben sandwich. It was great!

We always head to Wise Sons as soon as we get our rental car. My husband loves the corned beef sandwich and I usually order breakfast food. So fresh and delicious! I also preordered a brisket from the catering service for the high holidays as we were visiting from out of town and couldn't cook. The meat was so tender.... More

I rented a house for 12 days near by. The owner indicated Philz Coffe, a block away, which was nice and a good place to get coffee and read a paper, and Wise Sons. We tried both in different mornings for breakfast. We were five people. The vote was unanimous - we came back to Wise Sons every morning. Great... More

Good selection of food, the potato salad is really good and not expensive! Great place to stop by for a bite to eat in peace or with friends. I would recommend to anyone visiting San Francisco to check out the food here!

I have eaten here 3 times. I have never thought their food was stellar, better than a fast food place or big chain. But it always misses the mark in one area or another, first time I visited under seasoned food, last time the chicken was cooked to shoe leather consistency. Great but limited beer selection. I feel they owners... More
