Have visited PLÄJ several times, but this was the best ever! Started with House Aquavit with Blood Orange—delicious! Their aquavits are house made with Iceland vodka. Ordered Herring, Arctic Cod & Potato Dumplings for shared main meal—fish perfectly prepared and presentation gorgeous—amazing density of complex, delicious flavors. Dessert was Kladkakka (choc cake) with blueberry ice cream and Northern Lights (a... More

Our food was great. The restaurant was not as upbeat as I like. We were there early which may have something to do with my assessment.

A group of friends took me here for my birthday recently. We thoroughly enjoyed the food presentation and quality! They have a somewhat limited bar, i.e. I had wanted a grey goose martini, but they didn't have grey goose. However, the vodka that they did have was quite good! The prices were also quite within reason! Will definitely return as... More

We made pre-play dinner reservations here and were very happy. They staff accommodated the schedule, though we had 2 hours before our play. Loved the cocktail selection. Food was fantastic. 4 of shared plates. I think my favorite was the Barley Brussel Sprouts followed by the Nordic Cheese plate. Nice, quiet, reserved atmosphere and very nice being off a busy... We decided to try Plaj because we were staying with my elderly mom at the hotel and it looked like a unique place to eat. Wow! Everything was amazing, even the pickled herring, which is a bit adventurous for me. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiet, romantic, delicious meal.

The location of this restaurant is not special. The space is lacking in ambience and so I did not have high expectations for the food, in spite of its reputation. Happily, I was very much surprised by how beautiful and delicious the food was. It would be easy to just order and enjoy the appetizers, as they were excellent, but... More

The food was fantastic. Assorted cheese, dolmas, cocktails, craft beer, and wine were the highlights. A lot of creativity goes into the flavor and presentation of the food. Unfortunately, the restaurant feels very stuffy and the staff were as cold as raw herring. Service wasn't bad, but I expected more playfulness from a place positioned as "Plaj - Play". It... More

Attentive service, good food choices. We shared a delicious butternut squash soup with crab and cognac cream dollop. Also enjoyed Swedish meatballs with rich gravy and lingonberry sauce, yummy mashed potatoes; chicken breast over cabbage and sun chokes with creamy sauce.

We visited Plaj after it was recommended to us by friends. We found it to be an excellent adventure with the Elk Tartare, Lobster Gnocci, and Pork chop being the big stars.. The service was very good with the staff attentive when needed while not being overbearing.

A charming restaurant located at the Inn at the Opera, close walking to the Opera House, Ballet, and Symphony. Ideal for a pre-event dinner. Food is Scandinavian with abundant fish and smoked meats and game. Elegant decor, although back room can be noisy. Service is adequate and geared toward getting you out on time for your performance. We will definitely... More
