Visited on a Friday night. They take names for the tables and most of the bar, but the back few seats at the bar (probably about 10) are first come, first serve. Wait was estimated at 40 minutes but we were able to go back...More

Stopped into Tadich for a drink (or two) before dinner reservations elsewhere, and boy, the old school atmosphere just can't be beat. Strong and reasonably priced, my friend and I enjoyed two of their signature cocktails; a Moscow Mule and a Pisco Punch! We were...More

I think this is the oldest restaurant west of the Mississippi - yeah so what... the food is classic yes, but modern too. The waiters are grumpy, but hell it's a facade, they love their job, consummate professionals and have fun while at it. The...More

How can you go wrong with an establishment that's been around for more than a century. The place is not cheap but if you don't mind having a delicious clam chowder it's a bargain. I hadn't eaten all day and I came by during the...More

My favorite San Francisco restaurant never disappoints. The waiters in their white shirts and aprons and black bow ties take you back to another era, Order the crabcakes and or crab louie salad. The bread is to die for. Both the traditonal and Coney Island...More

A must stop each time I am in San Francisco. The mood, service and food is always exceptional. I vary between steak and sea food and have never been disappointed.

Located in the heart of the financial district. Great seafood - very wide set of choices on the menu. Old style brasserie setting. Quite noisy at lunch time. Service was efficient though not particularly friendly. The food and atmosphere are the main reasons to come....More

The place is timeless. The decor takes you back at least a few decades, and the menu has changed little. The cioppino was very good, but expensive.

In addition to the tasty and historic menu item Hangtown Fry (oyster/bacon frittata), I had one of the best gin Martinis ever in a restaurant. Food service is available at the bar, if you don't want to wait on a table.

While it is worth the wait, there are other choices out there where the wait is REALLY worth it. However, this is an institution in SF, and should be visited at least once. Set in the heart of the financial district, it is generally full+...More

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s
version of Wall Street. The rush of business people
make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of
life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,

Hi. I loved this restaurant, but I don't think they can put that many tables together to seat 17 people. I would recommend going elsewhere for the large group and children, and go to Tadich Grill with just another couple... More

I basically agree with all the others below. Place is more a business / formal dinner set-up and the architecture of the restaurant may not allow for such a large group. I would give them a call to confirm. In regards to... More

Go early. We had a party of eight that got to the restaurant at 10:45 and I could not believe how quickly they filled up. TIP: They will not seat you until your entire party is present.
