We tried to go to Tadich Grill our first night in San Francisco, but the bar was packed and there were no shortage of folks standing and waiting, so we figured we'd try again a different night. I'm so happy on our next try that...More

Got a seat right down the end of the bar where the staff were eating during their breaks. Thought our waiter was a bit short when he said we could only sit there if we were eating and then walked away. The staff eating on...More

We have eaten here many times over the last 40 years. It still maintains the classic traditional SF look and fresh grilled seafood, simply prepared. The wines are inexpensive by SF standards. The waitstaff is “old school” SF indifferent, but efficient. It brings back memories...More

We chose this restaurant based on Tripadvisor's reviews and it was great! I had the Lobster Thermidor and it was delicious. Great portion too, although I really wanted to finish the entire portion I couldn't. Servers very accessible.

Walked off the street to try this restaurant as heard it was a great traditional SF restaurant. Not booked but immediately got two places at the bar. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. He recommended a good light beer and several dishes on the...More

This is a classy place that has been around for a long time. You can imagine the movers and shakers of the 1800's eating here. Get something mesquite-grilled, as this was one of the first restaurants to use this style of grilling. The seafood was...More

Advertises that they are the oldest restaurant in San Francisco, I believe - 169 years. Long, huge counter and old booths - makes for an ambiance out of a 1920s movie. Bartenders are long time employees who take pride in their work - I got...More

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s
version of Wall Street. The rush of business people
make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of
life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,
