Tiny little Italian restaurant I decided to try because it was on a 10 best list and the prices were reasonable. A hole in the wall (aren't those the best!) that looked more like a pizzeria. I had the special homemade pumpkin ravioli in a butter and sage sauce. My daughter (who likes to stick with the basics) had spaghetti... More

I eat at this restaurant every time I am in San Fran. The food is well above average and a good price. Great specials, menu items and wine list by the bottle or by the glass. My lunch was out of this world. Great focaccia. Just love this small little reastaurant. Small so you need some patience to get in... More

I tried for the first time this restaurant in Italian quarter and was quite disappointed with the food quality, it looks attractive from the outside and the menu is reasonable in price. We wanted to try and compare with another restaurant nearby but were disappointed with the taste of the Pizza and Penne. Not at all the Italian style pizza... More

Visited this restaurant in North Beach area of San Francisco for dinner before the theater. A tiny space, but very good food and service. Portions large enough for sharing. Prices moderate for area. We came early on a weekday, but would advise advance reservations due to the small size of the dining room.

The food is so good. I had house made raviolis. The wine is good also and reasonably prices. Make sure to make reservations as this place is small. I will go back and cannt wait.

Stopped here after a show with friends. We split the pancetta pizza. It was artisanally crafted with seasoned tomato sauce, cured pancetta and slightly sweet mozzarella cheese on a thin, baked crust served piping hot. The accompanying Montepulciano red wine complemented the pizza perfectly. Service was prompt and courteous and they did not rush us out the door. Prices were... More

We are in San Francisco for a few night prior to continuing on to Hawaii.Being from Boston I thought why not try the Italian food here in North Beach.Reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we thought L'Osteria del Forno might be a good choice. It far exceeded our expectations in service, food and ambiance. We could have been on Hanover Street in the... We were able to reserve a table for 10, and the service and food were simply wonderful. What a quaint restaurant with authentic Italian food. Conveniently located just around the corner from Beach Blanket Babylon. Locals were streaming in -- you know it's a great place when you see the locals there.

Went for a late night pizza which definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. Great for a "date night". Extensive menu of authentic rustic Italian dishes. Reasonable prices for food and drinks. Pizza was cooked to perfection! Service was attentive yet still casual and friendly. Delicious!

We had a delicious thin crust pizza at this cozy restaurant in North Beach. The menu is quite large, and prices are very reasonable. We walked in at 5 pm on a Saturday and got seated immediately with just a short wait for our food. The focaccia they serve before dinner is amazing!

Description
As our name indicate, most of the food is cooked in the oven, like the best thin-crust pizza in town, thinly sliced pork loin roasted in milk, penne with meat sauce... And our extraordinary focaccia!
We only cook fresh produce for 25 years!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
