Reds is a shack in a pier serving cheeseburgers, hot dogs and bottled beer, with a small bar added in the back. The decor is 1930s waterfront chic, they used to serve longshoremen on the piers before container ships took the traffic to Oakland. Pics of celebs, famous strippers, sports heroes, and historic pics of the SF waterfront and politicians... More

My husband loves to speak of the "old days" when hamburgers were delicious, but inexpensive. Wanting to relive old memories, we had lunch at Red's and my husband was happy with his burger since he likes his meat half raw. Mine, on the other hand, was the worst hamburger I've ever eaten. The gray slab of burger was raw inside,... More

I love this place despite the fact that the food is average at best. I love the vibe and the history and the nice folks.

This is NOT “the Chartres Cathedral of cheap eats,” It's an OK joint. It has lots of character, it's not expensive, but the food is just food. The burgers at In N Out are better.

We stopped in for breakfast at the Java House and found this to be very quaint. Food was good, hot and fast. It is pretty much self service but the nice thing it is right on the water front and just down from ATT Park. It only serves breakfast & lunch.

If you want a place to take a large group after the game, check out Red's. A great bar in the back with a huge patio right on SF bay with a view of Berkeley and Oakland. The food is simple and well priced and service is good. It can get chilly while outside, so bring a jacket. It's a... More

Strolling around the piers in San Francisco and came across this place. No nonsense - just traditional burger and hotdogs at their best - must be bouncing on a baseball match day with AT&T just along the road..

Red's Java House basically hasn't changed much in the years I've gone there for a great breakfast and super views of the Bay. They have a scrambled egg dish that they've been serving for decades that is tasty and sticks to your ribs. Try it. Also serve up hot dogs and burgers. Many locals bike there just to enjoy the... Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
