this is a modest restaurant with small, basic table seating BUT fabulous food. The owner & staff are friendly and helpful and we had a great dinner there. The special of the night was chicken ravioli in a sundried tomato cream sauce. It is worth flying to SF just to eat this!

Enjoyable food. I ordered a veggie pizza and it was good. The pizza base was good quality and there was no soggy bottom.

I had a very long day and was looking for some comfort food - like pepperoni pizza. UV's is on Powell on the Cable Car line and looked inviting. I had the personal 8" pizza which was great for 1 person and a draft beer. Hit the spot.

It was our last night in San Francisco, and we'd had a wonderful four days of walking, exploring, walking, shopping and walking. We were exhausted, and wanted to grab something to take back to our hotel room. Uncle Vito's was just a block away, and we were enamored by the name. So, we called in our order, picked it up... We really enjoyed the pizza. My only complaint would be that the tables are crammed in quite a small space so not the greatest atmosphere. We took our leftovers with us and the next day the pizza was just as good. The box wasn't greasy at all which so often happens after sitting overnight in cardboard.

Good service. We got vegetarian pizza. It was ok. Nothing fancy but for 12$ per person it's ok. I ordered a side salad which was pretty good too.

Not a fancy place at all. You sit close to the next table and the interior isnt fancy. But the food is great and not a long waiting time. We got two pasta dishes and i medium Hawaii pizza. The medium pizza and a starter is enough for two persons. Also large pasta dishes. The price is great.

I was in town for business and decided that I really wanted pizza. This place was in the general area and was well reviewed online. Even though the restaurant was crowded, I was seated immediately. Service was prompt and kind. The fried ravioli (one of my favorites that is hard to find) was very good. I also had a nice... More

Reasonably priced, huge serves, friendly service! We went back 4 times during our stay in SF. Get there early if you don't like to wait for a table.

Neighborhood Italian restaurant since 1977- nearly 40 years. Our 2 sons , aged 26 and 20, went here one night after Chinatown was closing shop. Restaurant is normally open until 11:00 PM. Concveniently located near the Powell-Hyde cable car line at corner of Bush and Powell. Theyt both had sandwiches: the meatball Marinara and the Italian Sausage. No complaints from... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
