There is no sign on the building but seems to be a local favorite. Lines form in the morning for the for the Country Bread which by their own admission has reached cult status. We found it crowded, overpriced and only mediocre. $10 for a...More

Taking advantage of the early wake up after coming from the east coast, I headed to the Mission for an early morning stroll. When I saw a minimal line at Tartine, I thought this is my chance to give it a try. Had the morning...More

Get there early...it's always crowded and there's always a line. But wait is well worth it. The smoked salmon tartine was outstanding and the egg sandwich on a soft bun was sooo good. Make sure to take a few morning buns with you for later.

The pressed sandwiches were very delicious speciality the one that had goat cheese, lemon and almonds. The coffee was great as well. Sadly to get a table was very hard and as well the queue to get the food ordered was quite considerable.

We wanted a couple savory and of course sweet treats and Tartine did not disappoint, sort of.... Everything we had was outstanding and would highly recommend including scones, cookies and bread. Our daughter was with us and telling about these “great pastries” that she had...More
