My son enjoyed a delicious dinner here. The services was friendly and attentive. The miso soup was flavorful, and not too salty. The edamame was fresh and slightly crunchy, the way we like it. My vegetarian son enjoyed tasty cucumber rolls and inari, followed by...More

This quite small but popular restaurant was located just up the road from our hotel The Donatello. My wife and I both had the Terriaki Chicken which came with rice, vegetables, salad and miso soup. The table next to us had various sushi rolls are...More

First note: no sign outside (just the street number). Ambiance is cool. Lots of wood and Japanese pottery. We started with agedashi tofu, which was heavenly. We then ordered the chef’s choice (omakase) which was an excellent decision. 13 pieces of nigiri for each of...More

Reservations are a must - and weeks in advance. We did the OMAKASE (chef's selection/tasting menu). The freshest, best tasting, simple but beautifully presented sushi I have had. The staff were friendly, but the hostess (Arian???) was, sweet, knowledgeable and attentive. And went above and beyond...More

Akiko's is a bit overly-discreet since the name of the restaurant is not outside the establishment -- just the numbers 431. Guess that it's part of their attempt at panache. My husband and I had a decent meal there last week. The fish seems fresh,...More

We found Akikos interesting though most of the dishes we chose were seasoned on the sweet side and not to our taste. The fish was fresh. I didn't love the sushi rolls because there wasn't enough moisture to soften the nori so it was a...More

Great experience at the sushi bar, Eric made all kinds of interesting Sashimi pieces for me. Butterfish and others that I had never eaten before, they were terrific. Be ready when you get your bill though.

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's
Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique
neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic
streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs
awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on
dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who
gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or
practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands,
