We chose this restaurant because of its proximity to our hotel and because it had gf options on its menu for our daughter. The place had a pleasant, casual and comfortable atmosphere. The food, however, was fair and unexciting. Probably best to just stick to burgers, which none of us ordered. The Cobb salad and the ahi tuna salad were... More
A nice place to eat lunch. Great location close to Union Square. We was sitting in the bar and was served fast and with enthusiasm. We had the daily lunch offer. Still very expensive but more valuable than other meals in during our trip.
We stayed at the Handlery Union Square Hotel for a week in the end of January/beginning of February 2017 and had breakfast here almost every day. We were always quickly seated and our order promptly taken. The servers were all friendly and helpful. We mostly had omelettes and toasts with apple/orange juice or coffee and enjoyed everything. We were there... More
This is a classic American bar and grill. We sidled in there one hot day and just sat up at the bar drinking cocktails and eating finger food. It's the real deal, with your cocktails made in front of you by a bartender who is only too happy to share his secret recipes. Lots of a fun for us Aussie... More
We've had many lovely meals at the Daily Grill, including breakfast and dinner on separate days during our most recent visit to San Francisco. The food, beverages and service and always outstanding. And the atmosphere combines traditional and modern elements seamlessly. Located just steps from Union Square, it's well worth seeking out.
The service was extremely slow. Three tables, who were seated after us, received their meal and check before we received our food. We had to ask the waitress to check on our food. When the food came, my toast was cold. So cold the butter couldn't melt,, and my omelet was very dry.
How can you screw up a gin Gimlet? I mean, really? Stick to the beer. And the hamburger. Everything else is just a cue to remember Mom's cooking more fondly. Even if Mom was serving time.
Though this is a chain and the food is fairly mediocre, they really do knock it out of the park with their bloody mary. They top it with a blackened grilled prawn and a veritable salad of pickled veggies. If you've been out the night before, this is a great hair of the dog place to go.

I often go to your restaurant before heading for A C T. You usually have a three-course special deal of the day. Is that available every day? I am thinking of bringing a group of friends to your restaurant before the December 6th performance of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL." The show starts at 5:30, so we would be arriving at your restaurant at 2:30 or 3:00. Sincerely, Richard E. Kaye
