This place is cute quaint and the food is phenomenal. Hands down my number 1 place for the best calamari in San Francisco. Try the Samba explosion. I recommend this place to my clients in from out of town. Great staff very attentive.

This is a busy restaurant, that succeeds in delivering authentic Brazilian cuisine. Try their daily specials. They have a adequate wine list. Very friendly service, adds to the experience.

This is a modest restaurant in terms of setting but the food is good and feels authentically Brazilian. The caiprinha (national drink of Brazil) is super tasty, a lime and rum specialty that is tasty but a bit overpriced at $13 for a glass of mostly ice. The food is better. The Coxhina (chicken croquettes) were really tasty and went... More

Happened in to this place at Happy Hour. Very busy. Good appetizers and drinks. Not very large in size but large in flavors.

This is a comfortable, friendly neighborhood restaurant. I had the basic white wine which was lovely and bright, coconut rice (rich and heavy) and a fish chowder, excellent. My husband's chowder in a squash made a great presentation. The croquettes were smaller than on the streets of Rio but light and fresh. All in all, a good choice. We had... More

The food had great flavor, and was clearly authentic. My partner found his salmon to be over-sauced and a little too citrusy. My feijoada was tasty, but also deconstructed. I ate maybe half of what they served, and I still felt like I overate. The drink menu is amazing, I will say! Creative mixed drinks and a solid (if short)... More

My husband and I recently shared a wonderful birthday meal at this restaurant. The drinks (you have to try their caipirinha!), appetizers (croquettes, soooo goood!) and our main courses (picanha for me, ribs for my husband) and the yummiest desert I've had in a long time (guava flan) were amazing. Service was also amazing, and our waiter Tairo was super... More

Wonderful environment to truly feel like you're in Brazil. Mojitos and Caipirinhas are a must have. Love the yucca fries, but really everything was delicious.

Visiting from out of town and decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at Mina's after reviewing the menu. The food and service was excellent, and the price very reasonable. The staff prepared a fantastic cake to celebrate my wife's birthday. I would highly recommend Mina's.

Went with friends for dinner. Food was excellent and service was great. Restaurant is actually pretty fancy but can't tell from the outside. Good size menu with a lot of unique dishes. I had the freijoada with a passion fruit drink (it was actual passion fruit with seeds!) and a caramel flan. Fresh, tasty food in a great atmosphere. Bill came... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
