Had 2 meals here during our stay, the food was of good quality and value for money. The banquet had a good variety of flavors and generous servings.

Make sure you keep on walking down China Town to find a more decent place! Food here is so plain and bland. I had the seafood chow mien and I would not recommend this at all. My boyfriend had a chicken dish and it was slightly better quality but still below restaurant standard. Overall would not come here again and... More

I always come here for happy hour. The round bar is so unique and the bartender is very friendly. There are lots of after work Chinatown office people here.

On our recent SF trip and a visit to Chinatown we found this interesting place. Very friendly folks and very good food reasonably priced. Lots of famous folks have visited this family restaurant just into Chinatown a few blocks.

We came here on our honeymoon 33 years years ago, and enjoyed a meal at the Cathay house. All I remembered was eating my first Longon berry with the almond cookie for dessert. This time, we were ushered to the best seat in the house - the one that overlooks the street. The food wasn't as good as the table... More

Not horrible like the one other place I gave a one star to once, but definitely low on the flavor scale. I had ginger beef, hardly any zing in a muddled brown sauce. Beef was tender though. Chicken cooked in parchment had a bit of flavor, but not exceptional.

Our fault probably as it was the first restaurant we came upon on in China town, but this was the worst meal we've had, anywhere! Deep fried nothing for staters & bistro gravy covered mystery meat for mains. Keep walking is our advice, there must be something better in China town 😞

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
