We've been coming here for a few years but last Spring after one visit, we felt the food was starting to go downhill. We thought we’d had an off-night but last night's meal confirmed our doubts and sadly we won’t be back. My husband and I started with spinach salads. Whereas the spinach was fresh and tasty, the dressing missed... More

This is a charming small restaurant catering primarily to the local residents. Very attractive, busy around dinner, mostly and early crowd. The food is quite good, service provided by Juan was prompt, warm and friendly. The minestrone was wonderful with a variety of beans and fresh vegetables. The polo parmesan was nice but the tomato sauce was not remarkable. The... More

Definitely a recommendation to have some great Italian food if in the Italian neighborhood. Not a big menu, therefore the food is very fresh and delicious! Great service, great ambiance as it is just a little restaurant. Keep your eyes open for this spot surrounded by many other restaurants

Great Italian food, particularly good pastas. Fantastic wine and beer selection. Good service, would highly recommend Osteria!

It's in our neighborhood, and you can always get a table. The food seems to be the same for over a decade. I always end up getting the gnocchi with blue cheese sauce, because nothing on the menu appeals to me.

We first went to Osteria several years ago while visiting the Bay Area. We returned recently and found it just as excellent as before. The Tortellini della Casa is prepared with the restaurant’s rich and savory meat sauce and is absolutely delicious (be sure save some of the bread basket for the last bits of sauce!). The Insalata della Casa,... More

We wanted to eat in SF last Saturday night, but didn't want to deal with the pre Super Bowl street closures. I found Osteria by chance and was surprised to find such a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. We started with a glass of Sexual Chocolate...a full bodied, smooth red wine. The shrimp over artichokes were delicate with a dressing that brought... More

We recently tried this Pacific Heights gem and were glad we did. Osteria was buzzing with excitement when we walked in and we can see why. The food and service was great. We shared a delicious Caesar salad and fettucine with veal meatballs. While the Italian menu is limited, there are plenty of good choices and there is a very... More

Evening started off perfect with our table ready at the appointed time. Two people in our party eat only fish so they called in and spoke to someone who assured them they had fish on the menu. When the waiter took the order, he regretfully had to report that the fish was already sold out on the fixed price menu... More

Considering that we spent a lot of time in Italy this year and we are really know and enjoy good Italian pasta we decided to try this Osteria restaurant .We had a dinner at this place last Friday since we had a movie to catch across the street. The radicchio salad that we ordered was just a plate with greens... More
