I seem to like this place and enjoy their food. It's a family-owned restaurant. There are two Thai restaurants on Haight which is a block away from each other and this one's a winner due to its delicious food and the fact that it is also more reasonable than the other. I love the pad Thai here as well as... More

Good food, nothing exceptional but for the price you pay it is quite good. The personel though looks very stressed all the time and I guess they are being overworked by the management so I would be hesitant to return.

Two blocks from Golden Gate Park and up a set of steep stairs into an old Victorian house to Thai dining in tiny Victorian rooms. We were stoked to sit by the windows above that heady smoke wafting up from the din and lights of Haight Street. Economically priced with Singha Thai beer! The wait for the food was a... More

Ploy II is a real find. In a Victorian home on Haight St., the kitchen does a reallynice take on traditional Thai dishes. We loved the vegetarian Pad Thai pan fried noodles. We had never them pan fried before, and really loved them. We also the green curry which was so, so tasty. You have to walk upstairs to get... More

This hidden gem is upstairs in a renovated Victorian home on Haight street. Amazing lunch! The panang curry was fantastic. Phad Thai, coconut soup and imperial spring rolls were also top notch.

My wife and another couple from Houston are here Saturday night (Halloween) at about 6, right before the chief got. Phoned ahead 39 minutes and for a great reservation table in the front not next to the window but with a nice view nonetheless. Started with Deep Fried Pumpkin which I had never had before and it was delicious. We... More

Ate here years ago and it was good then. Stopped by the other night to see what their version of Pineapple Fried Rice was like. More expensive than some at $12 but so tasty. Nicely toasted cashews and not skimped on. Chinese sausage slices and overall taste makes this version better than others in my opinion.

The place doesn't look like much outside, but it is full of personality and great food inside. My husband and I were in San Francisco as part of a family vacation with 8 other people - we had never eaten thai food. The food and the service was amazing. Lots of choices, even for your usual steak & potatoes type... More

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighbourhood Profile
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
