We were so happy to get a table at Rose's on a rainy Easter morning! The wait staff kindly set two tables for our larger party. The food was great... especially the smoked salmon "pizza".

We stopped into Rose's late one evening and were seated immediately. We just needed a light bite. My husband had the minestrone soup and I had the citrus salad. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Just what we needed.

I came for lunch with a friend on a weekday, and we were seated quickly. I enjoyed my Yukon potato hash, and quite liked that it was not a huge plate of food. What bugged me was being charged $5 for a simple cup of tea, for a brand that costs about that much for a box of 20 teabags... More

Great place for breakfast / brunch. Very nice outdoor seating. This is one of my favorite go to places for informal meetings over coffee.

We expected a bit more based on recommendations. This small older venue was crowded, so some must think more of it that we did! Our salads were very nice, fresh and appreciated. We both ordered pasta dishes that sounded good on the menu, but neither were memorable in taste or presentation. Perhaps we expected more flair in San Francisco, but... More

We went here for breakfast and it was divine. I wasn't a huge fan of their style of bacon, but bacon is hard to mess up and I definitely ate it all. I had polenta and french toast, and my boyfriend had the breakfast pizza. Their homemade italian soda was delicious. All in all, the food was 5 stars. The... More

We had a pasta experience...tried the meatballs, which were great, but the pasta was the best ever. Topped off with a plate of delicious cookies...and, don't forget the wine! A terrific dining experience in a family atmosphere.

There is usually a bit of a wait if you go on weekends but they move through people quickly. I love coming here for breakfast whenever I am staying in the Marina District, it is a nice walk up to Roses and I would do anything for their smoked salmon pizza or their polenta and sausage. It is a great... More

A favorite in the Cow Hollow neighborhood, Rose's Café is a hangout for locals who bask in the sun at sidewalk tables, duck inside for a cappuccino, or stay for a leisurely lunch or dinner. Many customers are regulars who frequent our pretty bistro-café that offers table service and deliciously consistent food - Italian fare created using organic local produce, fresh seafood, humanely raised meats, and free-range poultry. Rose's artisan bakers bake a daily selection of pastries, desserts and breads. Menu highlights include: pizzas, daily soups, and house made pastas.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
