We have eaten there years prior and it was nice, food was good. This year we made reservations and did not realize the menu had gone to a prefixe menu : $79 per person. Now, I wouldn't mind if the dinner quality was equal to the cost. VERY disappointed with the meal. The appetizer choices were a "slice of goat"... More

Everyone in our family truly enjoyed every moment at Forbes Island. We had a party of seven including my 7 year old granddaughter. The food was so delicious and they offer an alternative to the menu for children. The service was excellent, too. So memorable!!

This exotic restaurant is located next to in Pier 39 and literally is an artificial island. To get there you need a boat that waits for you in the left side of Pier 39 (don't use the main entrance and walk in parallel outside of the major shops of Pier 39). Originally the owner built this place as his house.... More

This is a floating restaurant and so it does roll with the waves. When the boats going by to rock the restaurant. The atmosphere is very unique, eclectic. The ferry ride over was fun because of the Captain. He serenaded us.

We went a week before Valentine's Day, The environment is very nice a bit fancy and casual at the same time for being on a boat. You can definitely feel the boat rock, so make sure you plan to go on a day less windy, otherwise someone may become more sea sick than usual. Food was great, even though the... More

Take a private ferry to a $70 prix fixe dinner in an underwater dining room. Climb to the top of the lighthouse for amazing views. Service was friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Rack of lamb was amazing....even my vegetarian partner could resist a bite or two. The salmon was also good, but the lamb was the standout. The... More

Such a fantastic location for a restaurant, the little boat trip out to the lighthouse is novel, the lighthouse and outdoor deck is great. I was excited about the underwater restaurant complete with portholes, this was quirky and has so much potential if the interior was updated. The quality of the food wasn't great for the price, very disappointing. The... More

This place could easily be mistaken for a "tourist trap", because of it's location and unique environment. However, based upon a recommendation from a SF local, we decided to take a chance. Boarding a small boat that drops you off on a floating island was fun. When you arrive, stairs lead down to the restaurant, which is actually the hull... More
