Went with my husband and mother to enjoy an early dinner. Very nice greeting by the owner. Menu had delicious selections. The Italian Cuisine here is from the Adriatic area of Italy. The wine list is nice and reasonably priced.

Albona is an Istrian restaurant. Istria is a small peninsula jutting into the Adriatic sea from what is now Croatia. Historically, is has been part of some Italian city-state (mostly Venice) or the Austro-Hungarian empire. Therefore, the food has been influenced by several cultures and...More

I booked for 4 people, based on reviews read here at TA. From the outside, the Albona looks uninspiring, my parents thought I was taking them to some dodgy dive bar. On entering, the place was empty, aside from a small group in a corner....More

We found this restaurant on line and based on it's history and positive reviews we were excited to give it a try. After a busy day of sightseeing we ordered simply - asparagus soup, the sardine appetizer, spaghetti and meatballs and the seafood risotto. While...More

Went here last night as my family took me out for a belated birthday dinner. What a great local place out of the way and totally old school Italian. Started off sharing some apps, squid stuffed with toasted bread crumbs, parsley, and garlic; roasted in...More

This was quite an interesting find near Fisherman's ward. Not a tourist trap, this is a very authentic Istrian restaurant on a quiet street in a somewhat residential area only 1-2 blocks off the main drag. Basically Italian with a Balkan twist, Istria is an...More

We booked into this restaurant on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews and we were definitely not disappointed! It is an unassuming little place - we almost walked past it - but we really enjoyed our dinner there. We had mussels and pear with gorgonzola as...More

Food here is excellent. Read the history of the place to understand where your food is based. We had a couple on next table to us and conversed with them about wine, they having come to town from Napa and brought own wine, and the...More

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
