I had Dungeness crab cocktail. Served on a bed of lettuce with cocktail sauce that tasted like ketchup, no horseradish or flavor at all. The crab was fresh but not tasty. The wait staff hardly spoke English, they were in an obvious hurry and paid...More

Came in here for a birthday lunch and a break from seeing the city. We were treated very well and were given an amazing seat that allowed us to look out over the water. The service was 5 star from start to finish. The food...More

My husband and I traveled to San Francisco to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary and we selected Alioto's for our special night despite a number of other recommendations. This was our biggest regret of our trip. Our decision to dine here was primarily based...More

Alioto’s was within walking distance of our hotel. We were seated immediately at 8:00 on Saturday evening without a reservation. Drinks were ordered and I also ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell. I’m from the east coast and am used to a...More

Face it. SF is an expensive place. Most good restaurants are expense. For SF Cafe 8 has reasonable prices: $16 buger, $17 Fish and Chips, $24 Fisherman's platter, etc. You can sit outside which is toward the street attractions not the water or inside which...More

Alioto's is a local mainstay, but the food was really solid and the service was excellent. Although it is a bit touristy, I'd recommend it for a nice dinner. We would especially recommend the chicken picatta and the rock cod -- although I suspect that...More

I'm sorry I don't know either. I agree with the other's the corking fee would probably be for bringing your own wine. I've been there many times and have not noticed anyone bringing their own wine.
