There are 3 reasons I ate dinner at this restaurant. First, it was on the Marriott hotel's website. Second, it's been in existence since the 1800's. Lastly, it was very close to the hotel. None of those were good reasons. This reminded me of an upscale Denny's with white table clothes. Just keep walking by. I wish I had.

The last time my wife and I were in San Fran back in the early 1980's we had breakfast at this restaurant. We remembered it as a great experience. This trip we had breakfast there and it was again great. A little pricey for breakfast but it was well worth it. It was walking distance from our hotel (Andrew's Hotel).

The restaurant was across the road from our hotel so we felt it was worth a visit. From the first moment we walked in the staff were helpful and friendly. We sat down and given menus, didn't take long to decide what to eat. The food was nice and size of the portion was perfect.

We managed to walk in one morning for breakfast - what I mean is, if one wants to eat here, needs to be for breakfast before 8:30-9 am. Very nice decor inside, we had also very good waitress attending us, top class. I had omelette while my wife had a Belgian waffle. Both dishes were tasty, supported by relatively strong... More

We ate breakfast here twice during a recent stay and just had a short wait to get a table. Service is quick and, on both trips, the wait staff refilled our drinks and checked with us several times during the meal.

Had the Eggs Benedict, which were quite good although the sauce was a bit thin in both amount and texture. Service was quick and professional at 7:30 on a weekday morning. Can get crowded at other times and on weekends.

The line was out the door so we knew this would be a great place to eat. There was a dining area as you entered and another in the basement. Our server was a busy lady who was friendly. The food was good, as one would expect for breakfast fare. The corned beef hash had green pepper in it. I... More

A must go to restaurant for breakfast in San Francisco. We spent the night at the Chancellor Hotel before the Giants' Saturday game with the intent of having breakfast game-day morning at Sears Fine Foods. The restaurant and the staff that work there are an institution. The pancakes are very good and the atmosphere is off the charts for a... More

Good food and ambiance, go at an off time, the place is packed for lunch. My chicken sandwich was very tasty, the bun was fresh and excellent.
